Last Chance for Early Bird Pricing
Sent Saturday, March 10, 2012
Greetings, Nuts! I wanted to remind you that today is the last day to take advantage of the Early Bird rate for the Best Photo Forward: Refining Photos of Fine Embroidery webinar.
I've gotten some questions about the event, and I figure if one person asks, several others are wondering, so I'm going to answer some of the questions here.

The Nutsletter - A Class, A Tute, A Webinar
Sent Monday, March 5, 2012
Happy March, Nuts! And welcome, new Nuts!
Once again, I've failed to follow my new newsletter
guideline: shorter, more frequent communication. Is it possible that I'm
allergic to this format? Am I genetically incapable brevity? I'm beginning to
think yes, yes I am. It's no wonder I don't Tweet.
Naturally, I have a ton I'd like to share with you right
now, so I'll skip the story about meeting Maureen at the Dublin Literacy
Conference last week where I was giving a […]

Needlework Nutshell - Quick I-Heart-You Reminder
Sent Tuesday, February 14, 2012
Happy Valentine's Day, Nuts!
Greetings from Columbus, Ohio. I have a jam-packed schedule of slide shows and conference presentations for the next two weeks. Big fun and busy-busy.
Craft Biz Buzz
Our last survey asked how many of us are in, or want to be in, the craft biz. The answer: More than eighty percent of respondents. That's huge! We can definitely address some of your questions here. If I can't answer them, I probably know someone who can. Would you believe I've been […]

Nutsletter: I Heart You Earrings are Here!
Sent Thursday, February 2, 2012
Happy Groundhog Day, Nuts!
I heart groundhogs. Actually, I heart everything just now. I'm oh-so-excited to report that the I Heart You Earrings e-pattern (pdf) is now available in the Funk and Weber Shop. But there's more!
You know my projects have a tendency to...er...creep or even explode? I made more than twenty bracelets while developing and writing my EmbroiderMe! Bracelet instructions. (Don't ask me how many I've made since then.) Well, the I Heart You Earrings project […]

The Needlework Nutshell: Specialty Fibers
Sent Sunday, January 22, 2012
Greetings, Nuts, from frigid, oh-so-snowy Alaska! We don't have it as bad as what you might be seeing on the news, but it is a cold, cold, cold snowy year. It really doesn't bother me. Winter's for tucking up indoors and creating. The weather can do what it wants.
Survey Results for Project of the Year
Thanks to everyone who participated in the last survey. I love those things! Your answers give me ideas and direction, and I am grateful. You voted on whether we'd explore tags or […]

New Year, New Nutshell Project: Please Vote
Sent Thursday, January 5, 2012
Happy 2012, fellow Nuts!
I've said it before, and I'm saying it again: I love a new
start, be it the start of a new year, a new day, a new project, a new adventure.
The slate is clean, materials and ideas are fresh, and possibilities are
endless. Yippee!
New is my theme for this month. Among other things, I want to begin
a new Nutshell project, and I want you to help me decide what it will be.
The Inspiration
In December 2010, I up and decided to post
24 quick, inexpensive […]

A Holiday Project for You
Sent Tuesday, December 20, 2011
Greetings, Nuts, from snowy and slightly warm Alaska--and welcome new subscribers!
How's that holiday stitching coming? I made three new stockings for my sister's growing family. Would you believe I found the pattern I made 12 - 15 years ago when I made the first five stockings in the set? It's true. I don't throw crafty things away. I even had some leftover strips of the original fabrics. Talk about a Christmas miracle!
I encourage you to stop worrying if you're behind on a […]
