Nurse Entrepreneur Network Tip - 9/16/2009
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This week's tip:
'Is Email Marketing Right For You?'
I hear from more and more nurses that they are using email
marketing as one of their primary methods of marketing their
nurse entrepreneur business. While there is nothing wrong with
email marketing there are a few guidelines that you need to follow.
Build your e-list (list of people to email) of interested
subscribers. Ask current customers and contacts you meet if
you can add them to your email list. Be sure to get their
permission before adding them to your nurse entrepreneur business
email list. If you start to contact people without their
permission they will likely see your emails as spam. They will
quickly have all of your emails filtered and sent directly to
their computer waste basket. If this should occur they won't
see anything you send them from that point on.
As you are building your list and your relationships with the
people on your list be sure to provide them valuable information.
If you send only sales and marketing type information about your
nurse entrepreneur business this will also quickly get your
emails filtered and sent to their computer trash basket. Develop
something valuable to send them as a reward for agreeing to be
on your e-list and then continue to send them valuable
information. You may occasionally send messages of a sales
nature or include some brief sales information about your
nurse entrepreneur business in your email. However, your sales
messages should be in very small proportion to the valuable
information that you provide.
You also need to have an easy way for people to unsubscribe from
your list. People get annoyed when they cannot easily get off a
mailing list. Do not risk irritating your customers and potential
customers. Make it very easy for them to unsubscribe from your
list if they do not want to receive information from you.
By following these rules you will be able to build a list of
interested customers and potential customers who look forward
to receiving information from you.
That's it for this week! Spread the word by forwarding these
tips to your friends and to other nursepreneurs. They'll be glad
you did!
