The Birth of a
King
The story of Mary and Joseph is so amazing! Can you just imagine the ridicule and gossip this couple had to endure to walk this out. Thank God for a friend like Elisabeth, who was far beyond child bearing years and pregnant with John the Baptist, who understood what Mary and Joseph were going through and loved them through it. It is
great to have faith but there are times, like this one, when we need some flesh and blood to touch and lean on.
One of the greatest songs I ever heard relating to Mary was an old Mark Lowery song entitled "Mary, Did You Know"? Most of you have heard this song sang by many different artists but I think it is appropriate at this season to listen to the words of this song again and be
very thankful for Mary and Joseph and their obedience to walk this out by faith. It was not easy doing what they did and enduring what they endured. Put your mom and dad hat on and try to feel what Mary and Joseph must have felt.
You can listen to this anointed song at the link below which was sang recently by the Jordan Smith, the winner of "The
Voice":
Mary, Did You Know?
Mary did you know that your baby boy
would one day walk on water?
Mary did you know that your baby boy
would save our sons and daughters?
Did you know that your baby boy
has come to make you new?
This child that you've delivered
will soon deliver you.
Mary did you know that your baby boy
would give sight to a blind man?
Mary did you know that your baby boy
would calm a storm with His hand?
Did you know that your baby boy
has
walked where angels trod?
And when you've kissed your little baby
then you've kissed the face of God.
Oh Mary, did you know?
Mary, did you know?
The blind will see, the deaf will hear
the dead will live a-gain
The lame will leap, the dumb will speak
the praises of the Lamb.
Oh Mary, did you know that your baby boy
is Lord of all creation?
Mary, did you know that your baby boy
will one day rule the nations?
Did you know that your baby boy
is
heaven's perfect Lamb?
And the sleeping child you're holding
is the great I AM.
Oh Mary,
