My wife and I have been in ministry to the marketplace since 1989. Brig Hart, our Board President, has been in ministry to the
marketplace several years before that. However, none of us started this type ministry. It was not our original idea. Most of you will be surprised when you find out the biblical foundation for this type ministry and the end time significance of such a ministry.
Let's look at the Parable of the Laborers in the Vineyard given to us by Jesus
himself:
For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder (owner), which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard. And when he agreed with the lobourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard. And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, And said to
them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way. Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour (into the marketplace), and did likewise. And about the eleventh hour he went out (into the marketplace), and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle? They say unto him,
Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive. (Matthew 20:3-8)
Most people concentrate on the wage dispute at the end of this parable between the first and last hires but I want you to see where the owner is getting his laborers from. It's from the marketplace!! The recruiting field is the
marketplace. That is where the concept of marketplace ministry actually started!
I believe this parable also has some prophetic significance because it is talking about the kingdom of heaven over a period of time (early morning, third hour, sixth hour, ninth hour, and eleventh hour {last hour of the working day}).
We are living in a time
(maybe the eleventh hour) where many people, including Christians, are discouraged and are standing idle (spiritually). They're either sitting at home applying for jobs or trying to scratch out a living at a dead end job, but they are not doing anything to further the Kingdom of Heaven. That is why we have been "A Ministry to the Marketplace" for 26 years. We have been calling all idle saints and sinners to come work in His vineyard and we have seen thousands respond to that call.
There is a cause. His name is Jesus and the destination is Heaven!
You still have time. It has not struck midnight yet. We invite you to be a laborer in His vineyard. We invite you to be a part of His end time Army. The wages are good and the benefits are outstanding!
