God Gave the Land to Israel
(by Dr. Larry Ollison)
"And God said to him, 'Your name is Jacob; your name shall not be called Jacob anymore, but Israel shall be your name.' So, He called his name Israel. Also God said to him: 'I am God Almighty. Be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall proceed from you, and kings shall come from your body. The land which I gave Abraham and Isaac I give
to you; and to your descendants after you I give this land'" (Genesis 35:10-12).
Over the centuries, there has been much discussion about how to bring peace into the Middle-East. Some of the world's greatest thinkers and politicians have devised plans that would guarantee peace. To this date, all of man's plans have failed and here is the reason why.
In any given situation, there are only two plans:
1) God's plan 2) Any plan opposed to God's plan
As Christians, we must quit analyzing the situation and start looking in God's Word to find out what He wants. When you do this, you find one thing very clear and defined. God gave the land of Israel to His chosen people, the Jews. Any plan that would divide their land and give it to their enemies is opposed to God's will and that plan will not be
blessed.
"Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence" (1 Timothy 2:1-2).
The Word tells us that we are to pray for all who are in authority. When we pray for our leaders, we must pray that they will be led by the Holy Spirit and will make decisions that are in alignment with God's plan.
We know that those who bless Israel will be blessed and those who curse Israel will be cursed. To desire for Israel to have all that God wants them to have is blessing Israel. To take from Israel something God has promised to Israel is cursing them.
You must decide for yourself. Will you bless Israel or curse Israel? To help them keep their land will bring a blessing. To agree with those dividing the land will bring cursing.
God has a place for everyone. But, for the Jews, it's the land of Israel.
