I got a text message from a friend who is an NLP trainer.

He told me that there is someone NEW in the NLP field who is truly amazing.

Better than Bandler.

Better than Grinder.

He signed off.

Later that day I got a call from a different friend who was at the same NLP training.

He spoke in superlatives.

This guy is amazing. He's brilliant. Better than Dobson ever was.

Everyone I've spoken with agrees.

There is a new light in the NLP field.

Now when it comes to NLP - and especially the claim that someone could be better than Dobson, I'm pretty skeptical.

So I got on the phone and hired him for some consulting sessions.

I was blown away.

And this was working on Skype.

His mind was working so fast and what he was teaching was SO brilliant I begged him to slow down so I could savor it.

He had clearly created a new playing field within NLP.

And it's one that has produced legions of fans.

So I asked him, would you come online with me and create a course that will help my friends online.

His answer leads me to my next question:

Ready?

What would be the single greatest skill you could learn - in your personal or business life - that would produce the most change in your life?

Please respond to me by hitting reply to this email and hitting return.

From your responses I will choose the subject of our first online course.

Peace,

Harlan

PS. He will remain the mystery NLP teacher but I assure you, he's not on the list of people you know.

The Best Book To Start Learning NLP

Last week, I sent out an email with a list of books on NLP.

A LOT of people wrote back to me and said, Harlan, where do I start?

Other people said, I'm new to NLP. What's the best book for a beginner in NLP?

In the past, I always recommended Bandler and Grinder's Frogs Into Princes because that was the TRADITIONAL place to begin.

But a lot of people never got into that book because...

1. It was a difficult read. It took me weeks to get through it.

2. You had to get past reading it as the transcript of a seminar.

3. The book is now out of print and goes for crazy prices.

So I hunted around and found what I know consider to be THE STARTING PLACE FOR LEARNING ABOUT NLP.

NLP For Beginners: Only The Essentials, 2nd Edition

It's by Shlomo Vaknin who is emerging as one of the top teachers in the NLP world.

Anyway, that's my affiliate link for Amazon.

Enjoy.

I've listened to his recordings at night.

I've watched him share what's really working online.

But most of all, I've watched him teach and do what he loves.

Paul and I both trained in NLP ages ago and never lost our love for it.

Both Paul and I trained with Dave Dobson, the founder of OTCC (Other Than Conscious Communication)

But now Paul is doing something quite unusual -

He's offering an NLP immersion course at ZERO cost.

Yes, you heard me right.

ZERO.

ZILCH.

NADA.

Just sign up here:

The good news is that she sells home made cup cakes.

The bad news is that she brought me two boxes. ;-)

In a year she had build a business that is ready to expand. The problem was that Debbie didn't know how to expand it.

She was thinking she needed to open a store on a main street and man it all the time.

And if she did that she would not be able to be there for her children.

So I introduced the concept of chunking down to her.

She had a huge grin on her face and she immediately understood the concept.

She didn't realize she could bridge between working out of home and running a huge store.

So we brainstormed things she could do that would enable her to expand her business without giving up on her family.

Chunking down enabled her to do this.

We had a great meeting.

Then I realized chunking is so simple people over look it.

When it comes to taking action, please are often on so high a level they can't function because they need to chunk DOWN.

But then there are many people who don't succeed because they are thinking so small because they need to chunk UP.

It reminds me of the king who got angry and banished his son.

After a year, he had someone track down his son and gave him one favor - anything he would ask for he would get.

The king was hoping the son would ask to come back to the palace.

But the son just asked for a piece of herring.

Why? Because he couldn't chunk UP?

I hope you can still dream big. Chunk WAY up and join me here.

Have you ever considered that life just isn't fair. Some people work their fingers to the bone and never seem to make ends meet while others coast through life without ever breaking a finger nail.

Well, if that doesn't seem fair to you...

It's not.

In my work as a modeler, I discovered something very dramatic.

There is a significant difference in the way rich people think and the way poor people think.

Rich people think of what they want to do with their money.

Poor people just get deeper and deeper in debt.

And the way the credit cards are structured, you'll be in debt for the rest of your life.

Now that's not a pleasant thought but it's the truth.

Unless, there's a shortcut.

And I'm glad to say, I discovered it using my NLP Skills.

I'd like to share a video about it with you.

Agree with me or disagree with me.

This video may just change your life.

I invite you to check it out.

It's Bruce's take on the classic The Grapes of Wrath.

It's a sad song on the return of hopelessness and the Ghost of Tom Joad comes back to see it all again.

It's been years since my teacher Dave Dobson passed away and in that time...

his memory is being forgotten...

his teachings are being erased from the memory banks of the collective...

and this tragic loss continues.

I did a post on this on my blog...

Welcome to The Ghost of Dave Dobson.

From the early days, John was critiquing my copy and pushing me to do better.

I was launching my first website and John kept squishing my copy like a dad roach.

He wanted me to do my best.

And shortly after I discovered John, he was discovered by the biggest Internet Marketers in the world.

He's advised on nearly every single high profile launch but...

just isn't around to teach the little guy anymore.

So he created a new product called the Simple Writing System and sent it to me to look over.

I was insanely jealous.

He created a step by step action plan for creating copy and tossed in a swipe file that would turn anyone into a star.

But he went further...

Now I'm not sure how he did this but he roped in his biggest buddies in the copy business and asked them to mentor his new recruits...

The results?

Well, I suspect that John's program has one of the highest success rates on the Internet.

It certainly has the highest stick rate.

Like almost NO ONE drops out.

So I'm recommending John's program to anyone who realizes they need to learn about copy.

I give this 4 thumbs up.

You must see this.

I'm happy to say that the best post on NLP Copywriting has nothing to do with me.

I've been a collector of Ericksonian materials since the 1970's.

And there was so little material available on video.

One of the early videos in black and white was called The Reverse Set.

It's an induction by Erickson.

It includes a double arm levitation and the reverse set where Erickson uses negative language as a huge confusion technique and a bind to have the woman go into trance.

Man oh man. This stuff is pure gold.

It's the only video I know of showing Milton Erickson at the height of his powers.

This will keep you for a while.

It's amazing to study.

There are a lot of really nice NLP trainers.

Sometimes the two don't intersect.

Some of the most famous and effective NLP interventions haven't been particularly nice.
