OASE HELPS EASE RISING ELECTRICITY COSTS.

For the eco-conscious consumer or one just wishing to save on power consumption costs, Oase have developed a range of pumps to help out!

The Aquamax Eco and Neptun Eco range have been specifically developed to set new standards with energy savings of between 40% and 60% over Oase's already low power consumption.
On average in Australia one watt of electricity will cost $1.85 per year therefore a 170 watt Oase Aquamax 16,000 Eco running 24/7 will cost $314.50 a year to run and that's without using Oase's patented "Seasonal Flow Control"!

Just flip the switch to turn on this innovative feature to save up to a further 20%, now making the cost to run this pump even cheaper!

If you compare this to a budget pump in a competitors pump range with similiar specifications, a power consumption of 320 watts, it will cost $592.00 per year to run, the price difference between this pump and an Oase Aquamax 16,000 Eco means the Aquamax will pay for itself in a little under 3 years!

AUTUMN TIPS

Pond plants such as Iris and Water Lillies will begin to slow down in their growth and therefore you can slowly begin to stop feeding them as they begin their winter dormancy.
As the water gradually begins to get colder you can slowly reduce the frequency of feeding your fish as well but as autumn progresses and the pond begins to slow down now is the best time to clean your pump and filter, its been working hard all summer keeping your water clean and clear so why not clean it! Just remember not to wash the filter in tap water or the beneficial bacteria will be killed. Regular maitenance helps prolong the life of your pond equipment and also reduces the need to do a major overhaul that takes a long time to complete.

Autumn

Leaves will begin to fall into the pond and scooping these out before they begin to rot and pollute the pond is essential. Clearpond sell a variety of different nets for scooping up leaves as well as catching fish and are sure to have one to suit your needs, we even have one with a telescopic nozzle for reaching the deep end of any pond!
