What A Crazy April

I am writing this why my buddy and I make the long drive to Lubbock from Tulsa Oklahoma.

I've gotten a couple of emails from folks asking if I was ok, they hadn't heard from me in a while, etc so I want to share with you my crazy April.

As many of you know I still do stage hypnosis every now and then and this month I had two gigs sandwiched in between a mini vacation.

The first gig was in Farmington New Mexico and I flew into NM and then made the 3 hour car ride up to Farmington. I stopped at an indian casino for an hour or so and actually made enough playing poker and blackjack to pay for dinner. Yeah me.

The show went great - you really can't screw up kids getting hypnotized - and the next day I was on a plane to Scottsdale AZ to hook up with Rachel Rofe.

Now when I say friend I mean a person who had no idea who I was until I knocked on her car window. She runs an awesome outsourcing company and I decided on a whim to go out and spend a few days with her and her boyfriend Otto.

It was amazing. There were a lot of big takeaways for me but I'll share a few of them with you.

1. No rush, no worries. This was one of the most relaxed vacations I have ever been on. Normally it's get there, do 50 things, leave more tired than before, and more. Not this one - long leisurely lunches, sleeping in and virtually no computer time. We also got to see a playoff hockey game (my fav sport btw) and I got to be a Vegan for a day. I am not going to lie, by the end of the first day I would of sold parts of my body to have a hamburger. One the second to last day Rachel took a corner into her apartment parking garage to short and whamo her entire right side got smashed. I thought the day would be over and she would be in a bad mood but she looked at it and said "I am going to give this car away anyway". I  was floored by her response.

2. The computer stays home. I took my computer with me on this trip and I'm happy to say that is the last time I will ever do that. I did an awesome webinar with James Jones and John S. Rhodes but that along with the resulting workload sucked the life out of my vacation. I was amazed that Rachel was on the computer maybe 15 minutes a day while I was checking it every 15 minutes. She showed me a better way and the fact that from time to time we need to get off these things and recharge our batteries. So from now on when I go away expect notice but you'll have to wait to here from me. I know it sucks because just like you I like immediate access to anyone and everyone but life is life and I want to enjoy my time with you and also my time away.

3. Try something new and different at least once. Tomorrow night I am attending my first meditation class, I drank wheatgrass for an entire day, I ate Vegan and Raw foods for several days, I went to an awesome concert last night on a whim. I spent 2 days in a hunting blind with a client shooting at pigs (don't worry we didn't see a single one so that was my first and last hunting trip). My point? A month ago I would have never done any of this on my own. Rachel pushed me, my friends pushed me and instead of pushing back I just went with it.

After my all to short trip to AZ I finished up with a 5 hour drive to Liberal Kansas to do another show. Rachel drove across the US and slept in her car for several months. I did it for one night. No it wasn't to save money or anything like that - I just wanted to try it out. So me, a sleeping bag, pillow and a foam pad spent 8 hours together in the back of my Ford Explorer. The result - one of the best nights of sleep in a long time.

Now no need to worry. I am not going to change my name to Moonbeam and become a hippy. I enjoyed my time away but to be honest I thought of you a lot while I was gone. I take our time together very seriously and want to make sure I am being a good friend and mentor.

We'll start showing some really cool real world results through the case studies of my mom's business along with a real cool contest this next week. I hope you have a great week and we'll talk soon.
