It will be fascinating to me to see what happens to Facebook as other companies start to apply the same metrics and their revenue drops accordingly. But, I digress. One thing that strikes me about Facebook is whenever an attractive woman posts an attractive picture of herself, out come the slobber-ers. You know the slobber-er. He's the guy in the group who constantly stares at every hot woman who comes by, mesmerized by "that piece of tail" or "that tasty dish." He's the guy who piddles his pants if an attractive woman looks at him, and clams up if one even talks to him. He's entranced and hypnotized by physical beauty, and can't snap the trance long enough to actually talk to a hot woman. If you're on Facebook, you see this all the time. An attractive (or not so attractive woman) posts an alluring photograph, and all the slobbers start commenting on how amazing she looks. Think these guys actually attract women? No. No they do not. To them a beautiful woman is an outlier event, something reserved only for the rich, famous, and good looking. The concept of such a woman actually responding to emotional triggers, funny stories, and other attractive behavior is beyond them. The truly attractive man disdains the slobber-er, and at times makes fun of him. To him, being around beautiful women is normal and customary, and while he appreciates their beauty he is not awed by it. He certainly does not rush to Facebook to slobber and pant about how "amazingly hot and beautiful and pretty..." she is. He simply goes out in the real world, and interacts with beautiful women as they are...women who respond to the same things all other women do. Get yourself addicted to good things, and others will call you successful. I have, over the years, made it a point to get addicted to a good exercise routine, and in that I have succeeded. My attempts at a 100% perfect diet have not led to addiction to that, but they have led to a mostly healthy lifestyle. My addiction to deep reading has opened up some fascinating worlds, both fiction and non-fiction. My addition to direct marketing has led to the ability to generate income at will. My addiction to telling stories has led to some great friends, good times, and success with women. I have not quite let myself get addicted to women because that is something that can get out of control, but I do make it a point to have high quality women in my life, and their company is worth getting addicted to. On the flip side, there are some things I do only in moderation because they can lead to unhealthy addictions. I love my whiskey, and love my cigars, but indulge in those once week or less...they can lead to bad addictions. I love big steaks and desserts, but again, moderate them because an addiction to those leads to porkiness, and that usually ends the quality time spent with high quality women. I love to eat, but hate to be fat more, so I make it a point not to become addicted to too much food. In a strange way, addiction, like anything else is a tool you can use to craft your life. Not too many people think of it this way--they hear the word addiction, and they only think of the havoc chemical addiction can wreak. It can, certainly, do that. But used properly, psychological addiction can be used to get the things you want out of life, the things those who abhor addiction at all costs will never get. If you want a real burger, eat a real burger. If you're a vegetarian and like vegetables, eat some of those...there are many very good dishes made from fresh vegetables and presented as such. A veggie burger certainly is not healthy--bread, mayonnaise, French fries, cheese, and a mish-mash of vegetables is only slightly better for you than a real burger made with real beef, which is to say not at all. Everyone knows burgers are not healthy. You don't eat them for health reasons, you eat them because they taste good. If you're into health and fitness as I am, you eat them sporadically...if you're like most Americans, you eat them every day (not recommended). If you're in the mood for some vegetables, in the mood to eat healthy, there are many vegetarian dishes which taste good, are healthy, and are presented as such. They're not trying to be something they're not. Veggie burgers are, in short, a fraud. All image, and no substance, an attempt to feel good about something that tastes bad by re-labeling it. They pretend to be what they are not. Well, guess what? There are a substantial amount of men who could be classified as walking veggie burgers. They try to present themselves as attractive, yet kind and sensitive, what every woman should want. But when a woman takes a bite of them, she discovers not only do they taste bad, they're not good for you. Decide what you want to be, and be it. Don't present yourself as one thing when you're another. An honest burger is good because it tastes good and is not presented as something healthy. Likewise an honest vegetarian dish is good because it tastes good, is healthy, and is presented as such. But a veggie burger? Alcohol in the proper setting can very much be a turn on, whether it should be or not. When I first started learning the skill of attraction, I believed you should stay away from alcohol, certainly on the first date. But I wasn't into very good whiskey or wine back then, and didn't have the experience that I do now.
