Your Open Word e-Devotional for July 18th

Hello ,

Yesterday I shared a link to a song by Gentleman Jim Reeves called "My Cathedral."  A good friend (who is also a subscriber) reminded me that Jim Reeves came from the same era as Tennessee Ernie Ford.   I began listening to some of Ford's old hymn covers, and thought I'd share a link with you today of one that has great meaning to me.  Here's the link:

My mother was a woman of prayer.  I have her old Bible; it's worn, tattered, well-used, and very important to me.  Inside her Bible are lists of people that she prayed for while she was alive.  I have looked at those lists, and can see answered prayers that came to fruition after years of her sending her requests to her Heavenly Father.

"The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth."  Psalm 145:18

How's your prayer life?  Are you spending time with your Creator, talking to Him, and listening for answers?  Prayer is a most important part of a Christian's life.  Let me encourage you to spend some extra time today with your Lord.

Have a great day and God bless!
