Your Open Word e-Devotional for February 11th

Hello ,

In his book Mere Christianity, C.S. Lewis wrote, "Do not waste your time bothering whether you 'love' your neighbor act as if you did. As soon as we do this, we find one of the great secrets. When you are behaving as if you loved someone, you will presently come to love him. If you injure someone you dislike, you will find yourself disliking him more. If you do him a good turn, you will find yourself disliking him less."

I concur.  Today's Scripture:  Proverbs 25:21-22

If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat;
And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink;
For so you will heap coals of fire on his head,
And the Lord will reward you.

Love is not always a fuzzy feeling.  Sometimes it's a choice to love, even when people aren't being very loving.  Only God can give us a heart of love for those around us that we struggle to feel loving towards!

Have a great day and God bless!
