Hi !
Welcome to this week's issue of Executive Insight.
The American Entrepreneurial Spirit
As we're about to embark on our Independence Day holiday here in the U.S., it seems an appropriate moment to contemplate the American entrepreneurial spirit.
Rugged individualism, an independent spirit, and perseverance are some of the characteristics that have transcended from the early American settlers to today's entrepreneurs. It doesn't matter what type of work you do or what type of organization you work for. Everyone has the capability to develop these attributes.
Too many people pass the buck by saying that they can't be a certain way, act with a particular behavior or have a unique perspective. In fact, if you think that these attributes aren't as strong as you'd like or if they have faded from your persona, it's time to think about why this has happened and what you can do to reintegrate them.
As you watch the fireworks displays on Saturday evening, think about how you can reignite and fortify your own entrepreneurial spirit.
Have a great holiday and week ahead!

Leadership and the
Bottom Line
Think about doing a mid-year SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) of how your company (department, division) is doing. Let your team take the lead and guide the discussion.
Personal Power
When you're faced with a new role, ease yourself into it, and approach it with the strengths that you bring to your other roles.
