Hi !
Welcome to this week's issue of Executive Insight.
September Fresh Start
I always seem to have that back-to-school feeling the week after Labor Day. It feels like a fresh start, a new beginning, and a return to routines that somehow are wired in us.
If you take the feeling that is associated with a fresh start, it can actually help to jumpstart new activity or reverse any difficult challenges. When you intend to have a positive fresh start, things will begin to look and feel differently to you.
Here are some ideas that you can use to enhance your fresh start this week:
- Read something outside of your field of expertise to give you a fresh perspective on your work.
- Contact people (clients, prospects, colleagues, friends) with whom you've been out of touch and really listen about what's new in their world.
- Change your routine so that you have different stimuli. This can be as simple as walking or driving a different route to work.
The smallest of changes can make a difference. As an example, I recently rearranged my workspace so that my computer screen is in a different position. Not only can I see better, but I feel more productive.
Take advantage of the fresh start and use it to spark your imagination and propel your energy. It will be a great transition into the fall season.
Finally, if you are celebrating the Jewish New Year, L'Shanah Tovah!
Have a great week!
