Hi !
Welcome to this week's issue of Executive Insight.
**An Attitude of Gratitude**
Thanksgiving is a great holiday: it's not sectarian, not religious,
and there are no expectations for gifts. Virtually every ethnic
group has adopted Thanksgiving as its own, and creates festive
meals accented with its regional goodies. What a time to eat, drink
and be merry!
It's also a time to think about what we're grateful for. When we
feel gratitude intentionally (in other words, when we focus on it),
our stress diminishes. Being conscious of the things we appreciate
helps to diffuse negative feelings that creep into our
consciousness when we're stressed.
I'm grateful for the usual things: my health, my family and
friends, my home, my business, and my colleagues. I'm also grateful
for the myriad opportunities to expand my horizons and look at life
a little differently.
As you celebrate with your friends and family today, think beyond
the usual: consider those experiences that cause you to stretch and
shake up your thinking a little.
Maybe now is the time to shake up your thinking some more while you
stir, roast, bake, dine, and cheer on your favorite football team
today.
