Hi !
Welcome to this week's issue of Executive Insight.
How's Your Vibe?
As we transition from the days of summer into fall, people's energy goes through a transition as well. For example, in this post-Labor Day week, there is a perceptibly different "back to business feeling."
Ultimately, though, we're the ones who have control over our energy level and how we disperse that energy day to day. I was recently reminded of this by my friend, Marcia Golden, who speaks very deliberately about changing your vibe.
Marcia comments that if you're feeling funky, for example, you need to change your vibe. Once you do so, your energy output and what you receive back also goes through a change.
So for your friends or colleagues who are still suffering from the recession woe-is-me mindset (and I refer to your friends and colleagues, because I'm sure as readers of this weekly tip that you aren't suffering from this negative thinking....), give them Marcia's advice and suggest that they change their vibe.
Be intentional in making a change, and observe what happens. You will feel more alert, more focused, and more in tune with what's going on around you. Obviously, these outcomes are great for feeling good or being more productive or getting a new client.
You can even change your vibe by changing simple habits. If you walk the same three or four blocks, get coffee at the same Starbucks, or take the same route home from the train station every day, mix it up a little. Walk a few blocks out of your way, get an alternative beverage somewhere else, or take a different route home.
Let me know how you change your vibe, and enjoy the process!
