My New Year's Wish for You

I've rewritten today's column several times, and finally decided to compile some reflections that I've shared with clients during the past few weeks.

The result is my New Year's wish for you, which of course, includes the usual desire for good health, happiness and prosperity.

I want you to seriously look at your priorities and focus on what will give you results that really matter in 2011, both personally and professionally. Things that fall at the bottom of the list are there for a reason, so pay attention to the top, not the bottom.

I want you to stop waiting for the economy to get back to normal. It's not going back to the same-old, same-old, and you need to recreate, reinvent, and participate accordingly.

I want you take control of your time and not have everyone else determine how you spend it.

I want you to make time for yourself, especially when you need to regroup and replenish.

I want you to commit to excellence in whatever you do. It doesn't matter what your job is or isn't; strive for excellence and you will have an impact.

Every day, I want you have some fun, experience some joy, and look at one thing a little differently or with new curiosity than you did the day before.

Finally, I want you to intentionally create the circumstances that will give you a robust and rewarding life.

So that's my compilation, and I hope that it piques some fabulous things for you in the new year.
