>> MESSAGE FROM KATRINA
As I've watched the 2010 Winter Olympics
unfold, I've often thought about the time
and preparation each participant has
committed to in striving for the GOLD,
SILVER, or BRONZE medal. Their level of
intensity and focus is so strategically
lasered on the prize (one of the coveted
metals), that their training regimen is
more of a lifestyle and hobby and doesn't
feel like work, exhaustion, or injuries
(what it represents for the rest of us!).
Some Olympians have even performed while
injured. Lindsey Vonn, an alpine skier,
was the first American Woman to win the
Gold in downhill...and she did it with a
bruised shin.
What I noticed is that they never took
their eye off the prize. Sure they've had
moments of defeat or taken horrible falls.
Some will even have to wait until the next
Olympic season to compete again. But they
each had the AUDACITY to "keep it moving"!
You can see the jubilation, success, tears
of joy and emotion on the face of each
winner! The moment their hard work has
finally paid off and the GOLD, SILVER or
BRONZE medal has been won!
Reflecting back to when Portable Hands was
just a dream in my mind's eye and a burning
in my soul, that's exactly what it feels
like now...like we've won the Olympic GOLD
medal.
We've persevered through a recession the
majority of us are still trying to recover
from. Sure we've had our set backs but
overall we kept our eye on the prize and
continued to leverage clients for success
by focusing on what really mattered most to
them...gaining support in a environment
solely focused on their success.
