Bonjour !
This is Teena, with some great tidbits about Paris today.
History - Jim Morrison
On 2nd July, 1971 Jim Morrison of the band The Doors passed away at age 27 (of heart failure in his bathtub in Paris).
This week is the 40th Anniversary - Jim's buried in the Pere Lachaise Cemetary in Paris, and many fans gathered at the grave to pay their respects.
Here's a brief article I read about it:
The weather in Paris this week
I've been watching the weather in Paris - August is mid-summer and high heat, and the days recently have been in the low 20 degrees Celcius range. Here's a preview for metric and non-metric folks alike over the next 10 day period :-)
and for those who use metrics like me:

Oh delicious weather! Nice and mild indeed! Wouldn't it be wonderful to be there right now?
If you're on my website and you're looking for weather updates, just type WEATHER in the search box on every page, or pop over to this page:
"Where can I go to the movies in Paris?"
Every now and then I get questions via my website about where to go to the movies in Paris. So get ready to enjoy the The Festival of Cinema in Paris this month - woohoo! It's an 11 day celebration of eclectic cinema from cinemaphotographers around the world ...
1. This website is in English and French, and here's the link to the obvious one :
Here you can download a PDF with all the movies listed - excellent! Even if you're not going to be in Paris, download it and pretend - maybe buy some croissants, make a coffee, and read through the PDF whilst listening to French music in the background ....
Oh - hang on - that's what I'd do ... ha ha ha
2. Cinéma en Plein Air /Open Air Cinema : it's FREE
One film will be shown each night starting at sundown, Tuesdays to Sundays between the 19th July and the 21st August, 2011.
If the video doesn't play, you can watch it here:
3. The Moonlight Cinema Festival
If you speak French, then this is for you - the Moonlight Cinema Festival (August 3rd to 21st).
At 9:30pm films will be showing outdoors in
various locations including Montmartre, Jardins des Champs-Elysées,
Place des Vosges, Menilmontant and the Esplanade de Invalides, bring your chairs/blanket, champagne or wine and cheese and enjoy the moonlight cinema.
You can read the Agenda & dates here:
This month you can catch up on some really cool jazz in Paris:

Other fun stuff to do in Paris in July
I have a few other fun things to do listed on my site, if you're looking for more inspiration - let me know if any of these grab your fancy, or if you have something you'd like to recommend to me.
This should keep you busy reading for a while, so when you've finished andif you would like to post me a note or would like to share your thoughts, please do!
I'll be in touch again soon! Promise! Let me know if you have any questions or comments in the meantime. Oh almost forgot - do you remember ages ago I was creating a book of Photos of Paris - some of my favourites? Well I've dusted off my first draft and will be attempting to get this finished a.s.a.p. Fingers' crossed I don't get kidnapped by aliens or sidetracked by life in the meantime!! :-)
Au revoir! A bientot!
