Atheists don't have a prayer... So will we pray for them?

Published: Mon, 08/07/17

Would you be willing to pray for one of my atheist friends? As you may know, I am co-founder of the Atheist Christian Book Club. I am a Christian and our other co-founder, Bill Kluck, is an atheist. We meet monthly for intense but respectful discussions about important books from both perspectives. Last month we had about 30 members (mostly atheists).Aug. 2017 - Atheist Christian Book Club

Free Video Coming! On Friday our club discussed the Christian book, Is God Just a Human Invention?, coauthored by Sean McDowell (son of Josh McDowell). Sean is a friend and he graciously joined us Friday via video conferencing to directly answer questions about his book from our atheist friends. Stay tuned - I plan to send you a free link to that video conference tomorrow so you can watch it too.

Would you pray for Bill?

Of course, atheists don't believe in prayer and some are even offended when you offer to pray for them. Although they "don't have a prayer," as followers of Christ, we do believe in a God who can and does answer prayer. So I am asking you to praying for my atheist friend Bill Kluck. In fact, it would be great if you could pray for all our atheist book club members.

Bill, a "former Christian," is intelligent, well-read, and very likeable. You can meet him on our Atheist Christian Book Club welcome video (6-min.): www.atheistchristianbookclub.com/welcome-video/

I would also like to ask you to keep me and the other Christian club members in your prayers. As you can imagine, having frank discussions with atheists can be intense. Both sides are answering questions, defending, and debating topics like creation, God, the Bible, faith, evolution, ethics, and much more.

What's really amazing is the club meetings are always respectful. Our talks are not only friendly -- we are becoming actual friends.

Thank you for your support that makes ministries like this possible. Please keep all of us in your prayers!
