Published: Wed, 07/24/19
Good afternoon ,
What is behind America’s growing infatuation with Spiritualism and communication with the dead? What does the Bible say?
Here is your new Profile on Spiritualism, a system of belief based on alleged communication with the spirits of the dead, especially through mediums. Spiritualism went viral over one hundred years ago through the “smoke and mirrors” of the séance parlors and the readings of psychic mediums. By the 1850s, the “number of Spiritualists were then estimated at 1.5 million… offering employment for 20,000 professional mediums....”1 After a long period of decline, the Spiritualist movement today has now rebounded back to an estimated 1.5 million according to Adherents. com.
