4-page PROFILE: Ouija Board - Harmless Game or Occult Doorway?
Published: Tue, 11/07/17
The Ouija Board has been a point of contention and even legal action throughout its history. Did you know, it actually took an IRS court ruling for the Ouija Board to be classified as a game? Eventually the IRS ruling led to the Ouija Board patent being purchased by Parker Brothers®.
Enabled by the marketing muscle of one of the world's leading game makers, the Ouija rocketed it to success -- actually outselling the board game Monopoly.1 Habro® eventually acquired the rights to the Ouija Board and it's popularity continued to explode. To date, there have been at least 69 movies featuring the Ouija Board.
This raises some important questions:
- Who invented the Ouija Board and why?
- Who or what is spelling out the answers to the players' questions?
- Is it psychic, psychological, fraud or all three?
What Profiles would you like to see in 2018?
Our staff is currently planning some important new bimonthly Profiles for 2018. Do you have any suggestions? What religion, cult, or controversial doctrine would you like to see us address? First, take a second and make sure we have not already published that Profile. You can get the complete list of all the Profiles we've written here: Profile Notebook Table of Contents. Have an idea not on the list? Just reply to this email and give me your recommendations. .
I hope this current Profile on the Ouija Board is a helpful addition to your Profile collection. If you believe in our ministry of defending the Christian faith through apologetics, evangelism and missions, please consider a tax-deductible donation at this time.
We are an evangelical Christian ministry focusing on reaching people of other faiths and religions with the true gospel of the grace of Jesus Christ. On behalf of our staff and our families, thank you so much for encouraging us through your continued prayers and support!
