Atheist & Christian Book Club - Watch Video & Pray NOW!

Published: Fri, 12/01/17

PLEASE PRAY NOW: We are about to start our Dec. meeting of the Atheist Christian Book Club. I'm anticipating an intense but (hopefully) friendly discussion between around 20 atheists and Christians about the book, Unbelievable? Why After Talking with Atheists for Ten Years I'm Still a Christian.Dec. 2017 - Atheist Christian Book Club

I think you should be able to watch my video interview with the author, Christian apologist Justin Brierley, streamed live from his home in London. Try it now by clicking here: www.watchman.org/BookClub1. Justin is one of the most popular defenders of the Christian faith in the UK. He also hosts a weekly Christian radio program and is a senior editor for Premier Christianity magazine. On the video, Justin is taking questions from our Atheist Christian Book Club about his book.

Would you pray for our club meeting?

I am asking you to pray right now for both the atheists and Christians as we meet together shortly to defend our worldviews and ask (and answer) the really tough questions. Please pray that we provide the best possible defense of Christianity. Also, please pray that we don't "win the argument but lose the person." So far in all eight earlier meetings, the Christians and atheists have remained remarkably respectful. That's probably the most amazing thing about our monthly meet up. Our talks are not only friendly -- we are becoming actual friends.

I'll send you a follow up report sometime next week and let you know what happened at our book club. Also, the Justin Brierley interview will be in three parts so I also plan to get the other two videos to you next week too.

Why is this important for every Christian? Almost every believer knows people who identify as atheists, agnostics, or skeptics. Some don't identify themselves this way but that is how they live their lives. This could include coworkers, neighbors, or even family members. Do you know someone like this? If so, the book club videos could provide some real strategies and ideas for building relationships with atheists that allows you to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. Over the years I have found that it is better to reach out to people by talking with them than just talking about them. Please give me some feedback and let me know what you think.

Thank you for your support that makes ministries like this possible. Please keep our staff and their families in your prayers!
