Hi there ,
How are things? Are you as busy as ever? Being busy is a mixed blessing isn't it?
So far, though, this year has been really exciting for me, as well as busy. I've been working in the UK, Denmark, Qatar and New Zealand. Next week I'm presenting at the PMI Global Congress in Dublin, Ireland and the week after I'm in Zurich, Switzerland. Phew!
The photo shows me with my family in New Zealand in February - they were able to join me for a while for a break!
It's been a while since I wrote to you - so I'm making up for it
with something new: a video series around key ideas in projects. Each video answers a key question in 2 or 3 minutes.
What is a Project?
People are using the word 'project' more and more nowadays. But what does it really mean? What makes a project different from 'business as usual'?
What do you mean when you talk about a project? Do your colleagues and stakeholders mean the same thing? Are you sure?
When I ask people what they mean by a project, I tend to get a huge range of answers and, even from project professionals, there seems to be quite some confusion.
Designed for busy people, my video lasts 3 minutes and explains what a project is and how each one is unique. You can find it at my new channel at http://www.makingprojectswork.tv
Questions for you:
- How did you find the video?
- What key questions would you like me to answer for you in the future?
All the best,
Penny
PS If you could do with a laugh, you might like to see one of the deleted scenes from my video shoot - it's three seconds long and shows the funny side of video production :-)
