Dear ,

About 4 years ago I embarked on a journey that has been both
inspirational and educational. I had a dream to teach quilting online, and it
became a reality when I met Michelle and Simon Frost. Two of the most honest and genuinely helpful
people I know, which I am proud to say are good friends of mine.
If you were one of the lucky ones who joined me in the
beginning, you too have been along on my journey. You have had the pleasure of
watching this site change and evolve over the years. It went through many changes, some for the
better and others may not have worked out as well, but you stuck with us
anyway. Customer loyalty is a blessing, especially in today's faced paced, need
it now world. There are many wonderful quilting sites out there, and yet you kept
coming back here. I can't thank you enough for that loyalty. It means the world
to me.
That being said, I am writing this letter not only to thank
you for that support, but also to share with you another big change. After many
long nights of soul searching I have come to the conclusion that it is time for
me to move on. I am in the process of stepping down as one of the partners and
owners of Quilting Weekly. This decision was very hard to make, and so is
writing this farewell letter to you. This may have been one of the hardest
things I have ever had to do. It is like saying good bye to a close friend,
which is never easy.
Michelle and Simon
wanted me to assure you that Quilting Weekly isn't going anywhere. They are
planning on continuing on with the site. Their plans are to continue to bring
you all the great quilting lessons you have grown accustom to having. Although
they are both experiencing growing pains of their own right now too, so please be
patient and if you have any questions please feel free to contact them.
As for me, I will continue to follow my heart and my dream
of teaching quilting; just not on this site. I would love to share more about
what my plans are for the future, but feel that would be unprofessional to do
here. So for those of you who are curious enough to ask, you can contact me
through my personal email address. Polishedu3@att.net
as the Quilting Weekly one may at some point be discontinued.
Although it will be sad leaving here, I feel blessed to have
had this opportunity to have met you, and shared my love of quilting with you.
God bless you and your family; I wish only the best for you in whatever you do
in life.
Sincerely,
Chris Dahl

Hi ,

I hope you are well.. It has been some time since you have heard from us at Quilting Weekly - we haven't forgotten about you, we have just been super busy.

Simon and I have been getting a new business venture off the ground - creating websites for local businesses and running seminars to help local businesses get and grow online. This has really taken over all our time, so much so that we have had to start employing people to cope with the work :-)

While we have been doing this Chris has also been building her own business which has kept her running around in circles..

This brings me to some sad news for you - every thing must come to an end. Our partnership with Chris has been fantastic and the fact that it has lasted so long (in internet terms) just goes to show what a great partnership it has been :-)

However we have decided to part company at Quilting Weekly - Chris has a number of ventures she is really excited to explore and we are fully behind her in what ever she does from now on.. Both Simon and I count Chis as one of our very good friends, and we look forward to the day we travel to her part of the States and we can meet in person! If it wasn't for Chris Quilting Weekly would not be the success it is today - Thanks Chris :)

So what will happen to Quilting Weekly? We are planning to continue providing you with outstanding Quilting classes into the future. We are gathering a team around us here and overseas to help us to develop the site into the future, so we can better serve your needs, so look out for a new look and feel to Quilting Weekly :-) We'd love to hear any of your ideas..

***OFFER***

As Chris is leaving Quilting Weekly she has also decided to take 2 of her classes with her, so this will be the last time you will be able to buy them at Quilting Weekly..

Here they are:
Machine 101:

If you are at all interested in any of these classes, please don't delay as they will be permanently removed 28th February 2011..

Let me know if you have any questions..

Warmly
Michelle

P.S. Thank you for being so understanding..

P.P.S. Chris may also send you out an email to explain just what she will be doing in the future ;-)

,

It has come to my attention that there was an email sent recently to new members with instructions for accessing our monthly chats. I did not realize this until today. I must clarify and apologize for any confusion that may have been caused with this message.

Our monthly scheduled monthly chats have been temporarily discontinued. Meaning there will not be any scheduled sessions starting with this month (July 2010). At some later date we are planning on bringing them back, and when that happens we will certainly notify you again.

I have deleted the message from our email program, so that it isn't being sent to any other new members in the future.

I do hope you can forgive me for not realizing this sooner. Automatic email programs are a big help in getting information out in a timely manner, but they still require the human touch to keep them up to date.

The chat room is still open for general discussions, so check in there once in a while you may find a friend or two to talk with.

Sincerely,

Chris Dahl

Hi ,

I know I have been a bit absent lately with contacting you, but it wasn't because I forgot about you. I just have been so busy lately. Busy with vacations, and all my summer activities that I just don't feel like working. I am sure you can relate to that feeling at least every now and then. Right?

Well all play and no work is making my bank account almost disappear, and without that I can't continue to bring you great quilting projects, teachers and lessons. So it is time to boost our sales. And that is where you come in .

Our Christmas in July sales will definitely be one you won't want to miss out on. Believe it or not, Christmas will be here before you know it, and you don't want to be caught without a few quilted items in gift giving bags.

http://www.quiltingweekly.com/images/promotions/christmas_in-july_sale.pdf

So to make this easy for you I want you to check out the unbelievable sale offer, and then print out the flyer and pass it to all your quilting friends so they too can take advantage of this sale.

Now I know I am asking you to help fill my bank account with your sales and your efforts of passing out flyers, which might sound a bit selfish. But if you will help me out this time, I can assure you I will make it worth your while.

Here is what I can do for you. I will be giving you an added bonus. (this is only for you ). It is not listed on the flyer. And Michelle doesn't even know about this extra offer!

http://www.quiltingweekly.com/images/promotions/christmas_in-july_sale.pdf

For every person you give this sale flyer to, and that registers; makes a purchase, I will send you a fat quarter! All you need to do is send me their names, I will verify the registrations, and purchases. and send you a fat quarter per person. Now this could clean out my stash, but your efforts will be greatly appreciated and should be rewarded.

Now I ask you , how many free fat quarters do you want me to send?

Chris

Important changes you need to know about

I think I lost the entire month of June! I know I was gone for a big part of it with my vacation, and birthday celebrations, but where did the rest of it go?

Just thought it would be good to get you up to speed with a few things.

As you can see we are moving along with our monthly challenges, and last month I think we had a record number of blocks posted. I hope you were one of the productive ones who got some quilting done last month.

Our winner Janet Smith, received a free class of choice along with a couple of wonderful Australian quilting magazines sent by one of our own members!

Will you join us , for the July Challenge? I put in an American twist if you care to play along. Our prizes this month will include the usual free class coupon, and some hand made cards donated by another Quilting Weekly member. I haven't seen them yet as they are in the mail right now, but she tells me they are beautiful and she had a hard time parting with them. (Wish I could play and win)

I know many of our members enjoyed our monthly chats, but not enough of them came on a regular basis, so I am going to cancel them for now. Unless of course I get an overwhelming response to this email requesting me to continue on. Michelle and I have some really big projects on the table that need our attention. These new projects will benefit you in the long run, so don't look at this as a bad thing, consider it a way for us to get to the good stuff quicker now.

And speaking of good stuff, what do you think of that new banner Simon created? I am sure he would love to hear your feed back. We suggest you log in once in a while to have a look at the site, as over the next few weeks, you are going to see other changes happening. I will do my best to keep you posted on any changes, as I don't want you to miss a thing......really there will be some cool things coming......but for now, join in our challenges and stay in touch.

Talk soon,
Chris Dahl
p.s. Did you know you can still join in our BOM, Mystery, and Mystery BOM classes? Don't miss out, every month I get a sneak peak at the blocks. I have to tell you they look fabulous!

Just remember the holidays are right around the corner and you might need some new ideas for fast quilts. Pick up any of our great classes, and get started today!

Chat Reminder

Please mark you calendar ,as we will be chatting this week. Our conversations last month were about learning how to maximize your time spent on our site. And since there is so much information I wanted to share that I couldn't fit it all into one hour, I decided to continue this conversation this month.

Things I want to cover will include:

Getting the most out of the forum (There is more than just chit chat going on in our forums. Find out to locate what you need when you need it.)
Utilizing your personal blogs, and galleries. (Staying connected to your friends is easy once you learn how to use the built in features of my account)
We will also review changing passwords, uploading photos and any other questions you might have. If you can not make any of these chats:

Monday 8pm CDT (central time)
Wednesday 8pm (London UK)
Friday (Eastern time)

Send your questions about using our site, to chris@quiltingweekly.com so that I can be sure to get them answered for you.

See you in the chat room
