SurebetMonitor Major Upgrade Released

SurebetMonitor has just released a major upgrade to their alert
service. I have written an article covering the release in the SAG
blog, which you can see here. They are allowing use of their alert
service free for the next month.

AFFILIATE PROGRAMS

If you have an product which you are trying to sell, have you
considered setting up an affiliate program to help sell it for you?
Creating an affiliate network could be the best move you have ever
made for your product. By allowing affiliates to market your
product for you, you decentralise the efforts to reach the widest
audience possible, and allow a huge variety of innovation and
different marketing angles to come in to play in helping you sell
your product. And what does it cost you? Well, in reality it costs
you nothing, because the affiliates are only paid based on their
performance - they are paid from the income they produce. You only
pay your affiliate network if they manage to bring in new customers
- meaning that they must be making you more money.

As an affiliate marketer myself, I have been on the other side of
this equation for many years now, and I can also guarantee that
running your own affiliate network is by far the best side of this
equation to be on. By running your own affiliate program, you
basically get to mobilise a free army of affiliates who will get
your brand out there in front of people. They will do link building
for you. They will Talk to people about your product. They will do
all of the stuff that you are meant to be doing, for free, in the
hopes of getting a cookie-based sale through your website. Sadly
for us affiliate marketers, not everyone has cookies turned on, and
not everyone follows affiliate links, choosing instead to type the
URL in directly, or google the brand name itself. So while having
affiliates making sales for you will cost you a percentage of the
sale price (which is still a sale more than you would have had
without the affiliate), you need to consider the huge impact that
having your own self motivated marketing army working on your
behalf could do for your product, your brand and your bottom line.

I believe the evidence for the strength of affiliate networks can
be seen in the marketplace itself. The companies who allow
affiliate marketing tend to grow, while those who don't, often fade
in to obscurity. Amazon, one of the founders of affiliate
marketing, is the best example of a huge affiliate success. While
within the arbitrage world, the market leading alert services all
tend to provide affiliate programs. Those who don't, some of whom
have been strong market leaders in the past, have slowly fallen in
to obscurity over the years as no one was there to champion them
but themselves.

Hell, look at 100% Winners. Complete rubbish as an alert service,
but it brought more traffic in to the arbitrage world than any
other alert service has for the last 2 years. It happened because
they marketed to the affiliate world first and built themselves an
army of professional affiliate marketers. They had more people
looking at their product and buying it than any other alert service
last month. And you know that it didn't happen because they had the
best software on the market...

So anyway, this post has gone on far longer than I ever expected -
my point that I am getting to, is that if you are selling a product
or a service on the internet, you need an affiliate program. One of
the most popular (because it is a great program) is Post Affiliate
Pro 4. I'm not going to go in to details as to why it is so great,
they do that plenty well on their own website, but all you need to
know, as a product/service developer/owner, is that you pay a one
time fee to buy a license for the program, set it up, and advertise
the affiliate program on your website and watch your sales
increase. There is probably a bit more to it than that, but for the
most part their software takes care of the management of most
things.

SAG VISITOR QUESTIONS

For a long time now I have been personally answering email
questions from SAG visitors. I will probably continue to do this
for many years to come, but from now on I will make an effort to
post the answers to some of the more interesting questions (or
interesting angles on old questions) in the blog for everyone to
see.

The first question in this new series of posts is about bookmakers
'banning' arbitrage traders, and whether arbers are at risk of
having their money confiscated. Read this question and its answer
here: Questions About Bookies Banning Users
http://www.sportsarbitrageguide.com/wordpress/2011/06/08/questions-about-bookies-banning-users/

A second question and answer has also already been posted. This
question was about arbitrage alert service data feeds. Read it
here: Visitor Question about Data Feeds
