Wendy's
Week I
had an amazing week. I didn't travel. I didn't network.
I just worked from home and it was total bliss. I
took this photo recently after a Melbourne rainstorm (at QV, looking
south). Only one other person stopped to marvel with me at the
magnificence of mother nature. Would you have stopped?
I
started the week with an information packed teleseminar for my Savvy
Web Secrets mentorees. Next, a call in day, where we
really got some
clarity around how to better monetize a website in business.
The Savvy
Web Secrets women are a real inspiration and I feel
privileged to have
the opportunity to work with them.
We also ran our bonus Social Media teleseminar which received great
feedback. I then rounded the week with a bit of pampering via a hot
stone massage.
Magnificent! What have you done to pamper yourself lately?
Until next week,
happy surfing!

Tips
for
LinkedIn Success
Of the various internet
marketing techniques available today, social networking enjoys ever
increasing popularity. Sites
such as LinkedIn, which especially caters to business executives and
professionals, facilitates the ability to link professionals
in
their specific fields in over 150 industries.
With over 35 million members,
how can you best utilise LinkedIn in your business to expand your
network? Create an
attractive
profile. Provide actual details your company
name and your real
name. People want to get to know the person behind
the
company, so introduce yourself in an engaging, interesting way and
include a
photo.
Make friends first. Once you're done
with the profile
stuff, it's time to start making friends to build your
contact
list. Perhaps you can start with your personal contacts and people in
the same industry. Then move on to connect with those who you
think would be beneficial to your business. Request friends
over
time - you don't want to be flagged as a spammer.
Write valuable content. Sharing knowledge and
tips for success is a great way to capture
people's attention, create a loyal following and become known
as
an expert in your field. Try to avoid selling your products
and
services to people upfront. No one wants to be sold
to.
Social networking is about building rapport and getting to know
people.
Don't talk about yourself. Social
networking sites are not
about "me, myself and I". It's
about connecting
with like-minded people and sharing experiences and views that can
influence them in a positive way. When you are able to give them
amazing value, you're on your way to gaining their trust and
building more relationships going forward.
Join discussion groups. Taking part in
discussion groups gives
people an insight into your background and expertise. Contribute and
provide answers to questions that will help people achieve
their
goals.
This is one effective way of increasing their interest in discovering
more about the products and services that you offer.
Remember, understanding how to use social networking
sites such as
LinkedIn will enable you to grow
your business and achieve success.

Five
Minutes with...
Lorraine Pirihi, the Productivity Queen
Question 1 What
has been your biggest challenge in business and how did you overcome it?
Keeping
myself motivated and staying focused working alone from a home office.
Attending seminars, being around like-minded people, listening daily to
relevant CD's etc. Investing in coaches who are further along the path
to myself and who reinforce that I can do 'it'.
Question
2 If
you had to start your business again from scratch, what would you do
differently?
Find a
coach or mentor who had the type of business and lifestyle I was
looking for and follow their lead.
Question
3 Who
do you admire and why?
Fabienne
Frederickson. She is a 'straight to the point' entrepreneur (like me)
who has the style of business and lifestyle that I want to attain. She
also is honest and backs up what she does with true content and service.
Question
4 It
takes a lot of determination and dedication to succeed in
business. What keeps you motivated? I live a healthy
lifestyle... I look after myself and that makes me feel good which
affects how confident I am in my life. The rest is answered in Question
1.
Question
5 What
are your 3 biggest success tips?
- You are the key to your own success. You are your
most important asset. Invest in yourself both physically and mentally
...get the knowledge and help that you need . You cannot be successful
on your own.
- Know what you want and stay focused. Be very careful
who you listen too.
- Get organized and take consistent action.
