The
Value of Pictures
If you're involved with any form of
business online, article writing and marketing are great ways to
raise awareness of your products and services and to reach a
wider
audience. But it's not about just simply writing articles.
Make it a point to
create an interesting and detailed author bio that includes a picture
as well to
go with your article.
An author bio is your opportunity to provide information about
yourself and what you do. It
should be short and concise but interesting enough to capture the
attention of your readers. Putting a photo of yourself beside it is one
way of letting your readers know that you're a real person.
It might sound strange but
people are always interested in seeing pictures of
other people and more so, a photo of the author of articles they like
to
read. A close up photo of yourself that is professionally taken and one
capturing you smiling is most appropriate.
Posting photos can also be done on websites and blogs. Pictures make
blogs more attractive hence, I strongly suggest that you
include them on a regular basis. Be sure that the photo you use is
related to your article or blog post.
Sourcing your photos should not proove a problem
because there are various
sites that provide a vast selection of photos on different subjects for
free. You can check out the free photos on Google at
www.images.google.com. In case you want higher quality and rare photos,
you can use sites such as the iStockphoto.com that require a small
monthly or yearly subscription fee.
Another way of utilizing the value of pictures is to include them in
your newsletters. With pictures of yourself and other people as well as
products you're offering, you are creating an impact for the
benefit
of your readers
. For example, a newsletter banner with a photo of yourself or your
business achievements is far more attention grabbing than including
just a plain one.
For people in the business of selling products and services, posting a
photo of your products or office facade will give potential customers a
clear idea of what you're offering. Make sure the pictures are taken at
a great angle and in a professional manner. Consider
utilising a
professional to get some great signature shots to use on your banners,
website or blog. Doing this will add impact to your
website.

Question
1
What
has been your biggest challenge in business and how did you overcome it?
My
biggest
challenge was with the
technical side of things which was
not my specialty.
Question
2
If
you had to start your business again from scratch, what would you do
differently?
I
would go
directly to an expert to help
me set up the back end side of
my business; this is why I am thrilled about what you have set up with
Savvy Web Women as it's really a needed service.
Question
3 Who
do you admire and why?
Oprah
Winfrey
because she is powerful and wealthy but also very caring and makes a
difference, this is important to me, I believe the more successful I
become the more I can help others and my family, and I know I can
impact and inspire more women. Lead by example is my motto.
Question
4
It
takes a lot of determination and dedication to succeed in business.
What keeps you motivated?
I
focus only on
the long term vision and
that is living an abundant,
happy stress free life with my family. I know that it takes hard work
to get there so I just do it with excitement about the future. And when
things get in your way and they do I say I am being tested and keep
moving forward.
Question
5 What
are your 3 biggest success tips?
-
Be
excited and passionate
around people, say thank
and smile, positive energy is so important as people will want to be
around you.
-
Do
not stop till you finish
a job you start (which
is not procrastinating) don't get side tracked by the little things
that don't make an impact on your business. I make a list every night
and make sure I get through that list before anything else.
-
Believe 100% that you can
be successful in your
business and only focus on the end result and do not stop till you
achevice that.
Tell us about Tessa...
I
run seminars called
Dare to Dream to help motivate women to live their dreams. I cover,
goals, procrastination, thinking positive, self esteem, confidence and
finding the dreams inside that you left behind.
I have come from having nothing, I ended up in a women's refuge with
three little children under 5 and I no tertiary education, no home,
furniture or car. I worked really hard to give my children a good life
so I ended up running a business and buying a nice home and properties.
Today I have a foundation and sell CDs to raise funds for women. I
wanted to share with women how I was able to overcome anxiety,
depression and many other things to be successful in business and life.
I believe it is so important for women to be leaders for their children
to follow.
