Wendy's
Week
This really should be called Wendy's Month! As you've probably noticed,
we've not been in contact for a little while as I've been travelling
for the past few weeks.
Those of you following my adventures on
Facebook will have received updates from Dubai, Italy and Paris. If
we're not yet connected on Facebook, you can now
Subscribe to my profile updates here.
Are you Keeping Up With All the Social Media Changes?
What a difference a month makes! So many changes are happening right
across social media, not just on Facebook.
We're in the process of
putting together something that I know you will love, as it's going to
help every busy business owner stay up to date with the forever
changing landscape that is social media. More details on that soon.
In the meantime, if you'd like to check the pulse of how you are doing with social media, make sure you book your place on our upcoming Group Strategy Session with me. Find out more here.
Before I
left, I had the pleasure of catching up with Suzi Dafnis from Australian
Business Women's Network and attending their Round Table
discussion. What a wonderful way to brainstorm your business, foster
new ideas and meet other amazing business women at the same time.
Have
you entered yet?
We are giving you the
chance to be in the running to w!n an Apple iPad2.
Until
next week,
happy surfing!

"Secured
my Vanity URL in Less
Than 12 Hours" "We were in a bind with someone trying to take our Facebook URL name.
After a short conversation, you had my Biz page up on Facebook and
assured me we would have enough Likes by the end of the week to secure
The Clean Plumber vanity URL.
Well,
to my surprise I woke in the morning and found that we had receive far
and beyond the amount of likes needed to secure the name. This did not
stop all day and when you called to say we had secured the Facebook URL
I was delighted to say the least.
Thank you
so much for all your help."

How
to Remove a Connection in LinkedIn
Establishing connections with like-minded people is one of the main
objectives of social media sites.
LinkedIn
focuses more on business professionals in various industries than the
more social side of other social networking sites. LinkedIn lets users
connect with people in the same industry, allows employers to search
for potential employees and at the same time lets job hunters search
for potential employers and jobs that match their skills. Read more here...

Five
Minutes
with...
Stephanie Travers of Doggy and Moggy
Question 1
What
has
been your biggest challenge in business and how did you overcome it?
My biggest challenge is making the time to get my business to a point
where
it will start to generate cashflow whilst finding an income source to
cover the
business overheads and my personal overheads.
I have to
be strategic on how I
allocate my time. Lists, lists and more lists.
Question
2 If
you
had to start your business again from scratch, what would you
do differently?
I would ensure that there was a
secure income source so as I was not concerned
about supporting myself and the business financially until it was
generating cash
flow.
Question
3
Who
do
you admire and why?
I admire both
Richard Branson and Oprah Winfrey from a business
perspective
as they both are self made entrepreneurs, who had a dream, were
passionate
and worked hard to achieve it, whilst making a real difference in
people's lives.
I
admire both Oprah Winfrey and Dick Smith for their philanthropy and
they way
they give back to communities. On a personal level I admire Aung San
Suu Kyi
for her strength of will and determination to fight for what she is
passionate about
no matter the personal sacrifice.
Question
4
It
takes
a lot of determination and dedication to succeed in business. What keeps
you motivated?
The end result keeps me motivated. I keep my personal mission statement
above my computer and read it regularly to keep me focused.I
Like all people I
have my moments, so that is when I contact one of my close friends who
runs
her own business and ask her to give me a good pep talk and sometimes a
little
reality check or virtual "slap"!
Question
5
What
are
your 3 biggest success tips?
Sorry....I have 4!!
- Ensure you have a great support network.
- Stay focused on your end result - what you are REALLY
trying to achieve!
- Don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it.
- Make sure you are doing something that you are truly
passionate about!
