 Wendy's
Week
Our first
Savvy Snapshot event for Melbourne was a huge
success.
There were many "a-ha" moments when I demonstrated just what you can do
to easily build up a responsive customer list. You can view
what our attendees thought
of our event here:
One over-arching theme emerged - you are just too busy running
your business to add setting up all this stuff to your bulging To Do
List. Is it time to stop pretending
you CAN do it all and concentrate on what you do best? If
this is you too, We Are Here To Help You! Contact Us to find out how we can
help or take a look here
Would Savvy Snapshot Webinars Suit You Instead? We can't be
everywhere. We can, however, join you in front your computer
via a webinar. We've received a number of requests to run our
Savvy Snapshot Events as a Webinar. Would this interest you?
If so, please HIT REPLY and let us know. Alternatively, Contact Us Here and we'll get it
organised.

Feature
Article
Why
Articles are a Savvy List Building Tool
Articles are meant to provide
useful information that can positively influence people. We all like to
read information that can add to our knowledge or that which
can guide us in our daily lives. It is then for this very reason that
in writing articles for the internet, we should strive to always keep
our target readers in mind.
As a writer and business owner,
your aim is to persuade people to believe in the message you are trying
to communicate to them and to eventually take action. It's
similar to
when you're convincing a person to try a new and useful
product which
you have used yourself. The only difference is you're
applying your
persuasion skills through writing and your focus is on sharing valuable
information rather than the product itself.
To make sure that your article
is persuasive enough, put yourself first in the shoes of your target
audience. Find out what solutions you can provide to their problems or
concerns at home or at work. You can start by asking a question in your
article and then providing an answer at the end. Using questions are a
popular way of capturing people's attention.
As you come up with possible
solutions, it would be great if you can give valuable tips and
strategies. Your readers will appreciate them. Use headings
for
each tip and provide chunks of information. Another option is to use
bullet points or number them if you like to improve readability.
Remember to avoid talking about
any product in your article as much as possible because this
may discourage your readers. No one likes to be sold to.
You can weave your power of persuasion
magic by writing information that people will find valuable in
solving their problems. Think about this. Very few people will
make a purchase right away. They need time to think about it.
The period that it takes them
to make a decision is the perfect time to do the convincing. This is
where your article should do the work.
For example, you run a hair
salon business. You provide services related to hair care. But again,
your article should share information on the more important aspects of
hair care rather than talking about your business per
se. Talk about the latest hair trends, hair styles, ways to enhance the
health of a person's hair and tips to avoid damaging the hair
through
constant bleaching and use of harsh products. People will
then naturally see you as the expert and look to you when they decide
to purchase.
You don't need to be
formal in
writing your articles all the time. Write in the same manner as you'd
use when
speaking with a friend. Use simple English in order to get
your message across and be easily understood by your readers. Add to
this, you must make your articles as interesting as possible to capture
attention.
Finally, don't forget
to
include a captivating author bio at the end of your article. This will
let your readers know that you are a genuine person whom they can turn
to
for valuable information should they need it and you'll be top of mind
when it comes time for them to buy.

Question
1 What
has been your biggest challenge in business and how did you overcome it?
Oh heavens, taking over a practice with no systems in place, no
qualified staff, and turning it into a business with over a million in
turnover. The first steps were rolling up the sleeves,
making the commitment to improve, setting goals and ploughing through.
Planning for the future and not losing sight of the goal post and never
losing faith in my own ability.
In the early years it was just dogged change-putting in systems and
procedures, hiring and training good quality staff.
Question
2 If
you had to start your business again from scratch, what would you do
differently?
I'd definitely have systems and procedures in place from the
start,
ensure enough start up capital from Day 1, get the best people on side
with the same goals, dedication and commitment, work "on the
business"
instead of "in the business" and
promote client service.
Question
3 Who
do you admire and why?
I guess because I've been discussing rowing it reminds me of
one of our
Quad team who succumbed to melanoma. Her attitude, spirit and battle
with the disease were impeccable. Although we lost her, all her
attributes are still with us: Grit, determination, consolidation of the
team, dedication to health, commitment to the team, good humour, love
of life and people and the courage to experiment with alternative
medical practices. Never give up.
I have also had the pleasure of rowing with a couple of people who come
to mind - One fellow rows with one good leg and one artificial. His
determination is amazing. These types of people whom for whatever
reason having unbelievable difficulties that they surmount day after
day keep me in Awe!!
Question
4 It
takes a lot of determination and dedication to succeed in business.
What keeps you motivated?
Everyday presents a new challenge whether it is my own
property/investment portfolio, a client with a story to share, a new
opportunity arising for myself or a client; all have you welcoming a
new day with zest! As a competitive rower for more years than I like to
remember, it was my experience that finding goals and competitions to
focus on, kept me determined to work through the pain of training, the
disappointment of losing a race, and dedication to the sport.
It is the same with business; you focus on the objective, do the
training, continually improve your skills with coaching and ensure you
are up to date with the newest technology of your craft.
Question
5 What
are your 3 biggest success tips?
- Set your business goals (strategic plan)- Plan to
succeed.
- Hire and motivate the best people in your field,
inspire them with positive thoughts.
- Make sure you have a prosperity mindset-believe in
yourself and you'll empower those around you.
