Question 1

What has been your biggest challenge in business and how did you overcome it?
 
Getting started. There's a big element of trial and error when you start a new business. It's important to learn from the errors and keep trialling new things until you get up and running.

Question 2
If you had to start your business again from scratch, what would you do differently?

I'd get on the Web sooner. The Web is such a great way to connect with people. I didn't realize the value of it when I first started.

Question 3
Who do you admire and why?
All the volunteers of Australia. The recent natural disasters have bought some of them recognition, but mostly their work goes unnoticed. And still they volunteer their time, expertise and efforts. It's really wonderful.

It takes a lot of determination and dedication to succeed in business.What keeps you motivated?
 
The biggest motivating factorfor me is knowing that my work makes a difference. Theodor Rooseveldt said "Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing." I agree whole heartedly.

Question 5
What are your 3 biggest success tips? 
  1. Hire slowly, fire quickly. The help you get is so important to the success of your business. Waiting for the right people is just as important as admitting it if you've made a mistake.
  2. Persistence, persistence, persistence.
  3. Allow for mistakes. One of my business mentors advised me to keep 10% of my first year's income as 'customer service' money in case I made mistakes. Thankfully I have never used it, but it made me more confident knowing that it was there.

My business helps people with their property investing. I mentor people one-on- one, teach a weekend seminar, and we have a property investing DVD set. It's such a rewarding part of life to be involved in - when peoplemake the decision to start property investing. And we help them to do it safely and successfully.
