Effective
Ways to Promote Your Name
Having a good business
reputation is one of the most effective ways of attracting clients.
This
is not only true offline, but also on the internet.
Someone who is genuine and trustworthy as well
as providing interesting and
useful information to web users will have more success online.
Whether you're in business or just pursuing a passion
online, what
counts most is establishing your name.
Key traits include honesty, sincerity, respect
towards other people, an ability to
connect or socialise plus the ability to persuade. These
traits coupled
with providing value and sharing information will ensure
your business success.
So how do you go about promoting your name? One key way is
to create a bio that will easily draw the attention of your
readers. This can apply to both individuals and organisations who
want to raise awareness of what they do.
A bio is short for biography and this usually accompanies articles
published online in various directories, websites and blogs. The bio is
included in the bottom part of the article, sometimes referred to as a
Resource Box.
A biography by definition is a description of a person's life
and
experiences. For individuals who wish to share their
credentials, experience and business expertise with other web users and
expand their network of contacts, an
author bio is an important method of self-promotion. Through this bio,
readers and potential clients are able to get to know a bit more
about the author.
An author bio section is a requirement in most article submission
directories. These article directories offer a free service whereby
they publish articles on a wide range of topics from numerous
writers from all over the world. The space allocated for the author
bio, however, is usually limited so to make yours appealing and a
standout, it is ideal to highlight your traits, skills, achievements,
both past and present, and any notable experiences. Keep it
short, engaging and interesting.
In providing details about yourself, remember to always be factual.
Readers want to know that the writer is a real person, not a
made up character. They go for authors who are honest and are able to
share information and experiences that other people can learn from. If
they find your article and author bio interesting, there's a
good chance you'll develop a loyal folowing with readers.
Establishing your good name on the internet will set you apart as an
expert in your field. Be consistent in what you do, write
articles that are engaging, establish rapport and over time
you'll build trust with your readers.

Question 1 What
has been your biggest challenge in business and how did you overcome it?
My biggest
challenge was believing that I needed to do everything myself and that
my clients wouldn't like it if they knew that I used a support team. I
overcame this through the support of a business coach and realized that
it's fine to manage the delivery of a solution rather than 'doing the
do' all the way through the process.
Question
2 If
you had to start your business again from scratch, what would you do
differently?
Having
worked for a large variety of clients, large and small, I now know who
my ideal client is. Therefore, I would be able to define my niche right
from the start and save myself a fortune in both money and time.
Question
3 Who
do you admire and why?
Ali Brown and
Robert Middleton for their ability to run highly successful on-line
businesses without compromising their integrity. Both of them offer
great products and services and don't stoop to 'magic-pill' promises or
sound like the rest of the get-rich-quick, hard-sell on-line marketers.
Question
4 Stimulation.
I love working fast, doing a million things at once, challenges and
learning new things. Owning my own business allows me to work at my
frantic pace. I also want to
earn a great income so that I can do the best by my family. Both my
daughters have special needs, my eldest is particularly bright and as
any parent of a gifted child will know, they can be a challenge at
times, especially when it comes to finding the right school.
My youngest daughter has Asperger's Syndrome, which is an Autism
spectrum disorder. She requires a lot of support - psychologist, tutors
and a great, understanding school. None of which comes cheap.
My business helps me with my own sanity as well as providing the best
for the ones I love.
Question
5 What
are your 3 biggest success tips?
- Stay focused. Entrepreneurial business owners can be
easily seduced by the latest idea or gimmick - knowing who you are and
what you do best will keep you on track.
- Surround yourself with good people. Both in your
business and as mentors and guides.
- Never stop learning. Keep an open mind and be
willing to listen. Why do things the hard way when you can learn from
the wisdom and experience of others?
