How
Choosing the Right Category can Affect the Success of
Your Article
The internet, as an information superhighway, has a wealth of
information
that people use every day. This being the case, it would be great
to know how to find what you are looking for using
categories.
By
utilizing different
categories, it would be easier to search for the right information you
need. When you use the services of online stores such as eBay and
Amazon, there are various categories available to help you find the
products you're looking for. When you go to business directories,
companies and organizations listed there are also classified into
categories. When you submit to article submission directories, you also
need to specify the category where your writeup should be listed.
A category refers to a group or subject that includes a list of more
specific topics. The subjects that fall under the main category can be
considered sub-categories.
Let's take an example. Business can be one major category. Under
this,
the list can include printing, car washing, hair salon, dry cleaning,
catering, internet marketing, real estate and so on. Under
internet marketing, you can have more sub-categories which can include
ecommerce, article writing, network marketing, online advertising,
blogs and so on.
If you're involved in a particular business and want to advertise or
promote your products and services online, you need to choose the right
category. Additionally, if you aim to promote yourself as an expert in
a particular field, you should submit articles in the appropriate
category to ensure that your write-ups get read by your target
audience. If you choose the wrong category, your article may
even get
rejected by the editors and won't get published online at all.
For example, the family category has often been
wrongly associated with articles that are supposed to be covered under
home, health and even pets. Sometimes, articles related to travel and
family trips are wrongly included in the holiday category which is
actually
meant for celebrations and other festivals (particular on US
directories).
Take a few moments before you decide on what
category your article or business should be included. Doing
so
will ensure your article is approved and published quickly and your
business will easily be found online, under the correct search terms.

Question
1 What
has been your biggest challenge in business and how did you overcome it?
Building a data base of targeted interest groups and building a website
and knowing that people use it and find it useful. Both of these seemed
to have an interconnection and I approached them in a similar way. I
worked on the building/construction at least every week (never thinking
I had finished, always adding new information and updating old
information) and creating alliances and joint ventures and
sometimes
simply joining other associations and attending networking events and
being proactive at them.
Question
2 If
you had to start your business again from scratch, what would you do
differently?
I have just commenced a new business from scratch and I am not sure
that I will do anything differently just do it quicker as now I am
more confident with what I should do. My 2 month old website has just
been ranked by Google with a 2 (it is so exciting to see that it is
already being ranked); I have organised to do some specific training; I
have arranged for some joint ventures; I have a specific targeted niche
market. As my husband is now also working from home with me, I have
added a brainstorming session each morning (which was a bit hard to do
with just myself) and I expect that to bring things to a head sooner.
Question
3 Who
do you admire and why?
I actually admire all the Micro and HBB business operators who are
prepared to take a risk and bring their vision to fruition with passion
and persistence. I am fortunate to know so many of them through the
Associations I work with and the Awards I organise it is all so
exciting!
Question
4 It
takes a lot of determination and dedication to succeed in business.
What keeps you motivated?
I am so lucky this is one area that I seldom struggle with. I think
it is because as a youngster I did Correspondence lessons for all of my
primary schooling (and for Art in secondary school) and learnt very
early to set my own goals and if I really wanted something to work hard
for it and negotiate and bargain if necessary. These skills have kept
me in good stead over the years. Occasionally I feel swamped with too
much work (and that can kill motivation) so I try to take a few moments
and think about what it is I want to achieve and I usually get so
excited that I just have to get moving again!
Question
5 What
are your 3 biggest success tips?
- Be opportunistic and take action if opportunity
does not present itself, then make it happen! But it is no good having
an opportunity available if you do not take action that will lead it
into something.
- Dare to be Different make your brand include your
personal image. I wear hats and have become known for them.
- Help others I have a philosophy of what can I
do
for you? rather than "what's in it for me"(WIFM). Over and
over
again, I have found that WIFM is the outcome of my philosophy.
