Wendy's
Week
I'm just
back from a weekend on the Gold Coast with one of my favourite mentors,
Brendan Nichols.
It was also a great opportunity to catch up with Alan Furlong (left),
who, like me, likes to demystify the IT space and all things
internet for business owners and entrepreneurs.
In fact, Alan and I will be joining forcing in 2011 to bring you an
amazing event that will focus on exactly that - how you as a business
owner can feel comfortable and confident getting online and utilising
social media as part of your marketing strategy.
It's going to be a bumper event and I can't wait to share more details
with you. Stay tuned...
Are
You Ready For 2011?We are

close and you enjoy a well earned break, keep in mind that now is also
an ideal time to reassess 2010 and your business. What
worked? What needs improvement? How can you make 2011 your best year

week,
happy surfing!

How
To Add Your Facebook Business Page to Your New Facebook Profile
You may have noticed that Facebook have recently rolled out a new look
personal profile.
One of the major changes is the removal of the information box below
your picture. This box was extremely handy, as you were able to include
a live, clickable URL to your website or, more importantly, your
Facebook Business Page.
Whilst this box is now gone, there is still a way to link up your
Facebook Business page via your personal profile – by adding
your
Facebook Business page as an employer.

Weninger of The

Question 1 What
has
been your biggest challenge in business and how did you overcome it?
My biggest challenge has been keeping the cash flow going during quiet
periods. I have overcome this by taking a percentage from profits at
the
end of each month and depositing in ING Direct savings Acc which earns
interest. This account has no fees or charges; I can then draw down
funds
when I need them.
Question
2
If
you
had to start your business again from scratch, what would you
do differently?
With
regards to Top Shots I would probably have learnt how to use the
camera better, rather than predominantly being the office manager.
With Chefs Tool Box I have only been in business since Aug 2010, I
probably would have done more reading of manuals to gain a better
understanding of how to successfully run a cooking party.
Question
3 Who
do
you admire and why?
I really admire Janine Allis,
the Boost Juice lady, as she was a mum just
like me, who has turned a dream and idea into a successful reality, and
has
achieved great excellence.
Question
4 It
takes
a lot of determination and dedication to succeed in business. What keeps
you motivated?
I really enjoy what I do, particularly with my Chefs Tool Box Business
as
I’m out doing what I’m passionate about and that is
teaching and
inspiring
others how to cook quick and delicious meals.
Question
5 What
are
your 3 biggest success tips?
- Keep an eye on your cash flow, always take a small %
out every
month and keep it in a savings bearing account e.g. ING Direct.
- Good time management and priority management of
tasks.
- Providing excellent customer service and then the
product looks
after itself.
