Hey Everyone,
How about those snowflakes yesterday morning? I got up and went for a run around the McCarren track in Williamsburg in the flurries and I'll tell you, it really made me feel alive. As much as I'm sad for Summer and Fall to be over, I look forward to the snowball fights, hot drinks, and sweaty dance parties to keep me going throughout the cold months. Speaking of dance parties, we have awesome weekly ones coming up to keep you shaking off your shivers, so please sign up for our email blast on our homepage so we can get you into these parties for FREE!
In addition to our regular Tuesday email blasts, now you can follow us on our blog and now leave questions/comments/facts/ feedback! Which brings me to our next segway: please be patient with our site and our newsletter. As I have been mentioning, SHAW PROMOTION is going through some major changes including the soft launch of our brand new website and newsletter server. Check out our site and browse around, but please keep in mind that we are forever continuing to update, fix, and improve everything on the site to make our jobs easier so we can focus on what we love to do: promote NYC! Thanks again for everyone's continued support, and we hope you will enjoy the new SHAW PROMOTION and see all the latest events on our calendar and blog!
And as always, we have your exclusive guest list as a SHAW reader. Just hit us up: rsvp@shawpromotion.com
Love,
Andy and the SHAW PROMOTION crew

“PROPS“, Wednesday nights at LPR’s Gallery Bar is the continuation of Rich Medina’s infamous Li’l Ricky’s Rib Shack parties on Wednesdays at the now defunct APT (RIP). Back at APT, Akalepse would rock the upstairs space, while Rich rocked the basement. For 8+ years NYC couldn’t front.the combo was unbeatable.

Benjamin Bertocci’s layered collages feature corporeal and inanimate imagery suspended in a void of apprehension. The resulting image is an allegorical stutter – where the subjects are metaphorically hindered from progression by their own shortcomings; as represented by the inability for the subjects to be viewed in their totality. These collages are composed of digital prints on canvas, paper, or aluminum, with both realistic and more expressionistic use of oil paint, determined to either enhance or interrupt.
Benjamin Bertocci was raised in Stockbridge Massachusetts. He received his Associates Degree from Simon’s Rock College, his B.F.A in printmaking from the University of Massachusetts, and his M.F.A. from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville where he was later employed for a year as Visiting Assistant Professor in Printmaking. Currently he lives in Brooklyn, and works as assistant manager of the painting area at Jeff Koons studios.
“Stutter,” collages by Benjamin Bertocci runs December 8 through December 30, 2010, at Fuse Gallery, 93 2ndAve (between 5th & 6th Sts, 2nd Ave stop on the F), NYC, NY. The opening reception, on Wednesday December 8th, from 7 to 10 pm, is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Fuse Gallery at 212.777.7988 or fusegall@fusegallerynyc.com .

On December 10th, 2010, we will debut our second video, an amazing piece of cinematic excellence directed by Steven Spencer and created with help form his incredibly talented crew. The video is dark, funny and brings out the angsty, heartbroken kid in all of us (hint: we got to smash things.) Stay tuned for details as things unfold…
