Hello New York City!
Hope everyone had a fun holiday weekend. As Labor Day marks the end of the summer, it is the kick start of SHAW's second busiest season, with Fashion Week, CMJ Music Festival, Halloween, and New Year's Eve; summer doesn't get to have all the fun!

We are very stoked to be currently in production with a redesign for this newsletter and are aiming to activate it in a couple of weeks. We spent a lot of time and energy relaunching the SHAWpromotion.com website back in December 2010 and now we finally have a chance to give our beloved newsletter the face lift it deserves. This should not affect your daily lives, but will give your SHAW experience a lot more stimulating pleasure every Tuesday afternoon. Please go about your regime and expect to find a beautiful, rejuvenated newsletter in your inbox in the upcoming weeks.

Last week's ticket giveaway for Electric Zoo was massive! We had so many poor students, nostalgic husbands, and ravers with no place to take their drugs that it was truly hard to choose who gets to have a kick ass Labor Day weekend for free.  For all of you who entered and didn't win, this week are we giving away an equally awesome prize -  a pair tickets to the Gotham Girls Roller Derby - Queens VS Brooklyn !! As much fun as all the bouts are, Queens vs BK always seems to be the favorite to attend and draws the most hardcore fans.  I grew up in Queens but live in (and LOVE) Brooklyn, and it's always fun to see girls on skates throw down, so please email JaiDee@shawpromotion.com and tell her why you should win the tickets. We have many other great events going on this week including our good friend, Erik Foss's (Lit Lounge, Fuse Gallery), who has his new art show "Avarice " opening on Sunday, September 11.  I was fortunate enough to have a preview of this gallery and I can tell you it's going to be amazing.  It's hard to believe it's been 10 years since 9/11. Unlike many New Yorkers, I was actually in Wyoming when the towers fell.  It was the date I got into a horrific motorcycle accident during my cross country trip, which eventually led to the birth to SHAW PROMOTION; I wish everyone had something beautiful that came out of that horrible day.  Take care of yourselves this week and take a minute to remember that we live in greatest city in the world.
