"The secret to a rich life is to have more beginnings than endings."

I

've been contemplating lately what the definition of a truly rich life is, and how to then create it for ourselves.
The beauty of trying to come up with such a definition is that everyone's ingredients will be different and unique to who they are as individuals. So with that in mind, I first wanted to list a few words that for me would adequately describe a rich life: free, content, lasting, secure, peaceful, challenged, yet successful, healthy, regretless, growing.

I'm sure there are more, but the way I like to think of it is that to be able to have the ability to hop on a plane to go anywhere my heart desired would be an example of encompassing all of these descriptors.  It doesn't mean I want to board the next flight to Paris (okay, bad example) because I genuinely love being at home, but it would be an amazing feeling to know that I could, if I wanted to, be my own boss and take the time to fly where I needed or wanted to be, and in saying that, I would need to be of good health to enjoy it and be secure in my financial situation. In essence, this is the barometer by which I can measure my success on my path to creating a rich life.

So how would you describe a rich life for yourself?  What would it include? What would it look like and how would it feel? If you have a journal, take some time to contemplate your idea of a truly rich life and list what comes to mind.  You might be amazed at how truly rich you already are.  After all, money can only get us so far, after that, it is up to us to make the most out of this one life that we have.

Within this week's newsletter is a sea of posts that I have had the most fun creating and putting together.  Some are a result of weeks of communication (my interview with the lovely Lauren Remington Platt) and others are my excuse to go shoe shopping online (10 Essential Shoes Every Woman Should Have).  Within this range are posts I am very passionate about in a playful, at times serious and other times a very fashion-oriented way - Why Not . . . Take In All That Spring Has To Offer?, How to Create Opportunities, Live Below Your Means and Eric Bompard - Cashmere Heaven (as I have been on a relentless hunt for the perfect cashmere sweater).

With all of that said, I have had some time to connect with some of my readers this week, and it has been a treat to read your emails and stop by your blogs to catch up.  Thank you for taking the time to reach out and say hello.  I never tire of my readers' words and feedback and feel very fortunate to have such an open line of communication.

Don't forget that next Friday (April 1st), not only will you receive the weekly newsletter, but you will also receive the quarterly which will focus on all things regarding Spring Fashion & Style.  Have a beautiful weekend and until next week, I'll see you on the blog.

Weekend Reading

A very short book and one that has been around for about a decade, but upon first reading it this past week, I plan on sharing it with my niece when she's old enough to read and am taking so many of the lessons they share to heart.  A wonderful read.
