I

t always amazes me how the environments we work and live in can have an immediate impact on our lives. Just this past week I found myself losing track of time as I organized my office at work. Once the desk was cleared, straightened and baskets and files labeled, I immediately let out a sigh of relief. I already felt more productive and knew efficiency would be more abundant simply because I had tidied up my work space.

The same can be said for our homes. Doesn't coming home to a house that is already vacuumed, dusted and polished make you feel a little happier, a little more hopeful and infuse you with a bit more energy? Whether it be our homes or our offices, if we create a space that is inviting, we are more apt to enjoy the time we spend there, or at least be comfortable while we take care of responsibilities and tasks. Whether it be the people we invite into our environment or the way we decorate the environment we live and work in, we have more control than we realize on setting the mood in two areas of our lives that we spend so much time in.  So why not set a tranquil one? While Monday's post (Dealing With the Unknowns in Life) reminded us that there is so much in our lives we can't control, why not take what is controllable and tweak it to our advantage?

Life is about choices, but more times than not, it is about the small choices we make every day that add up. If we choose consciously to create a space that encourages a calm state of mind, our stress levels will be lowered slightly, and we will be better able to handle the things we can't control when they come our way. With that in mind, here are a few ways to spruce up your work space and have a better day no matter where you work, whether your office is at home or at the end of a daily commute:

Can you believe January is almost behind us? February is about to arrive, but I must say I am looking forward to it. Next week is a week I have been looking forward to for a couple of reasons. First of all, an up and coming stylist from New York City who I have come to appreciate and respect will be stopping by the blog to answer your questions about style and fashion. Tiffani Rogers of Living Chic and Accidental Chic will share her instinctive ability to create outfits that accentuate your beauty as well as impress everyone around in any given situation. To have a taste of her knowledge and approach to style, listen to her interview with Kimberly Wilson as they discuss the topic of Parisian Style. And if you have a specific question you would like answered, email it to me at [email protected] and Tiffani will be sure to answer it.

Also next week, stay tuned as a grand opportunity that was presented to me by one of my subscribers comes to life on Thursday.  I can't wait to show you what I've been up to thanks to her generous opportunity.

But now to the newsletter. Paris was full of high fashion this week, and the designers certainly didn't disappoint, but by far at the top of my list was Elie Saab's Spring Couture 2011 collection. Each gown was a feminine masterpiece that left me applauding even though no one could hear. Click here to see a long list of favorites.  And on a quieter note, but none the less discussion worthy, was the new Why Not . . .? series which is focusing on Becoming A Better Listener. This two part series stirred up some wonderful comments and provoked some great realizations about eliminating the need to open our mouths so often.

I hope January has left you feeling thankful and hopeful for the new year we've just began. While at times we may become frustrated about those things that are out of our hands, the truth is, there is a lot that is within our control and can be a huge comfort.  I hope you have a lovely weekend, and until next week, I'll see you on the blog.

How do you define luxury?

lux·u·ry  (lgzh-r, lksh-)

n. pl. lux·u·ries

1. Something inessential but conducive to pleasure and comfort.

2. Something expensive or hard to obtain.

3. Sumptuous living or surroundings

What luxuries do you enjoy in your every day routine?

Everybody desire to live wealthy & luxurious lifestyle, but as older I get  the more people I see and more places I go,  I realized  that it is not all about Big Yachts and Penthouses in Monte Carlo even thought I would not mind!

Simple Little things can bring as much joy maybe even more than something Large.

My Top 10 Little luxuries are:

*Morning coffee with hazelnut and vanilla flavor

*Bouquet of fresh flowers in pastel and bright colors

*Perfectly scented  room filled with candles. Or a bit of  Perfume before going to Bed. My favorite is Chanel Chance. I have been faithful to that scent for quite some time.
*Nice glass of wine while cooking Mussels Mariniere with shallots parsley and white wine and of course an audience to Entertain

*Inspiration. There is a sea of inspiration everywhere, so many beautify things to see and to discover. I love to start my day with a walk to the beach, taking pictures of  hibiscus flowers and  toucans on a trees. Lightning in the morning is Magnificent filled with soft pink and Yellow shadows. And then ocean.  Something special and calming about waves, sandy shores and Palm trees. Every time I see the ocean it gives me a boost of energy and a feeling that I can  accomplish anything I want in my life.

*Dinners for two, holding hands and having crème brûlée. Being in love is magical feeling!

*My perfect black suede flats from Paris ,the softest suede I've ever owned and go with nearly everything.

*My beautiful classic Chanel bag. Doesn't matter what outfit you wear it gives perfect polish.
*Girly things: pearls, beautiful dress and lip gloss - so feminine and flirty.

*And dark chocolate - healthy and sweet.

What luxuries do you hope to enjoy in the future?

*Traveling- There is nothing like discovering new place or new culture. I would love to go back to Paris and Prague again.  Walk the streets of Amsterdam  and taste delicious bruschetta in Rome.  Hong Kong is one  of my  a Must visit  destination,  friend of mine once told me that Hong Kong it like "New York  on Steroids ' even more Crazy and Fashion Forward.

*Being Healthy - I like to take care on my body. I exercise everyday and eating healthy.  Body is like a fine piece of cloth you have to take care of it in order to enjoy life to the fullest.

*Being near my family and friends- This are the most important people in your life and I believe you have to invest as much as you can of love and patience in any relationship.  Unfortunately last ten years I've been away from my family a lot since I travel, but thanks to new age and technology it is very easy to communicate everyday and feel close to each other. But luckily enough, I have my close friends near me all the time which is a huge relieve.

Have a beautiful weekend everyone,
