"If you want to be truly successful, invest in yourself to get the knowledge you need to find your unique factor.  When you find it and focus on it and persevere, your success will blossom."

A

healthy dose of optimism and an attitude of making hay while the sun shines is one of the simplest forms of insurance we can invest in when it comes to our future.

While the economy may be still slowly picking up, but not nearly as quickly as we might like, we do have control over what we are doing now, and making sure we are placing ourselves in the best spot possible so that when the opportunity we've been waiting for presents itself, we will be able to act.

Over dinner this past week, this topic came up, and it reassured me to know that planning ahead, putting in the hours long before anyone notices is one of the surest ways we can place ourselves in the best light possible. For example, saving during the good times so that when those unexpected uh-oh moments hit, we are in much better shape than if we had not, or taking that extra class of training way back when even though at the time we didn't have to, only to find out much later on, that is what is making the difference.

We must be proactive, we must take care of ourselves first so that we can give fully of ourselves and live beyond just trying to get by.  Consider it an investment in ourselves, our peace of mind and our legacy when we go that extra mile and pat ourselves on the back. After all, if we're not willing to look out for ourselves and invest in our peace of mind, why would someone else be expected to?

In this week's newsletter you'll find a wrap up of my favorite Oscar red carpet looks along with Anne Hathaway's stunning 8-wardrobe-change hosting gig. And after receiving the most recent J.Crew catalogue, I am thinking about the required summer necessity - the swimsuit, and boy, do they have some very cute ideas.  Check out my Style Suggestion to make sure you have the best selection for your summer beach rendezvous later this year.

Well, March is here. Can you believe it? Oh, but what magic awaits us as spring begins to wiggle its way to our local nurseries, porches, decks and yards.  There is just something hopeful about what is about to begin.

I hope you are doing well and are looking ahead to an ideal weekend full of exactly what you need and want. Have a beautiful weekend, and until next week, I'll see you on the blog.

Get ahead of the rush and have your pick of the new swimsuit designs. With a mixture of luxury (the sandals are a dream, but aren't they fun?) and luxury for less (straw tote under $45), you'll be sure to look pulled together and flawless.
