The Simply Luxurious Life newsletter 99

As I was leaving work yesterday, an ominous thunder cloud hovered above and quickly, and unrelentingly, let its rain fall free and fast upon us pedestrians who were sent scurrying to find our vehicles or the nearest place of refuge. However, within ten minutes, the sun was shining on the glimmering pavement that had not too long ago been doused with moisture.

Such a common scene is witnessed during the throes of spring's fickleness, but it made me ponder how quickly the status of our outlook and the lives we live can change, similar to that of spring showers and subsequent sunshine.

I don't know about you, but I am constantly reflecting, analyzing and planning how to improve, elevate and learn. There are times when it seems that there isn't an answer in sight, but just as quickly as the downpour began and ended, so too could be the search for answers in our lives.  The key to making sure this quick turnaround has a chance to occur is to never stop looking.

One of readers' favorite posts was written more than two years ago which demonstrated that as long as we keep looking, and at the same time listen very carefully, what we are looking for will eventually be found. Have a look . . .

This week's newsletter includes a post about my current fashion obsession - pencil skirts, reasons to live an offensive life, opposed to a defensive, and a book review that caused me to rethink how I ate. With lively discussion around the book review, be sure to take a look and see if you would like to try and win your very own copy.

Open exclusively to The Simply Luxurious Life newsletter subscribers, I have a copy of Nell Stephenson's just released debut book Paleoista to giveaway to a lucky newsletter subscriber. To enter to win, simply email me at [email protected] no later than Sunday, May 6th. Make sure the email address you are using is the same one that receives the newsletter, as you must be a current subscriber to win. (The winner will be announced in next week's newsletter.)

With a few touch-ups around the yard calling my name, windows that are needing a good wash and the opening weekend of our local Farmers' Market, I am especially looking forward to this first weekend of May.

So many of you have told me that you enjoy reading the newsletter in the morning as you sit down to enjoy your steaming cup of java or tea, and as you savor this simple ritual, I hope you are well and realize how much I appreciate your patronage. It is my hope that May be a beautiful and promising month for you.

Whether you are picking up some fresh peonies to place in your home, hitting the road for a bit of wine-tasting or looking forward to savoring your uniquely designed weekend, I wish you a wonderful time.  Until next week, I'll see you on the blog.
