The Simply Luxurious Life newsletter 110

Bad things can happen without warning, as can good things occur without notice. However, I do not ascribe to the idea that either occur without cause.

With regards to unexpectedly not-so-wonderful things occurring, often times we unnecessarily go searching for them. Our attitude, tones of cynicism and sarcasm and our lack of effort to make what seems impossible occur, all contribute to the likelihood of what we expect (even though we may not want it) to actually materialize.

Luckily, the same can be said for incredibly wonderful things happening in our lives as well.  Just this week a handful of Ask Shannon questions were received regarding the idea of life working out in a way that wasn't expected, and while life can present to us a path that isn't what we thought we wanted, it is in this offering that even more amazing things can be experienced if we choose to look at the possibility rather than the dilemma. Good things can unexpectedly occur if we keep charging ahead, looking for them along the way and keeping an attitude that is appreciative, optimistic and joyful.

The archived post I have chosen today is one that speaks about the choice to look for the beauty in whatever life offers you. Have a look . . .

In this week's newsletter, my foodies will find a new recipe that is simple and uses very few ingredients. Just stop by your local farmers' market, follow the minimal instructions, add vanilla ice cream and yum! Also, whether you are involved in a relationship or not, the most popular post of the week might be one you'd be interested in - 17 Ways to be a Good Partner. With wonderful comments and suggested ideas that work from my readers, I would love to hear your thoughts on the subject as well. And a post that some may dismiss, but I urge you not to, is this Wednesday's Why Not . . . ?.  So much of designing the life you desire is being an educated, responsible citizen. So often, women allow the control that was offered to them be disregarded, and before they know it, someone else has made the decision for them, and it may not be one they want. Do take some time to read about Staying Abreast of Current Events and the many benefits of knowing about the world/country/community you live in.

This week has been a bit of a roller coaster ride, with some fantastically frustrating moments, and then, unexpectedly, some very promising news. While I can't share anything yet, I do ask for your good thoughts that things work out so that I will finally be able to share with you what I have been waiting so long to announce. For the past two and a half years, the support of you, my readers, has absolutely astounded me, so please know I read every comment, read every email and can't thank you enough for your time and interest.

May this weekend be lovely in every way that you desire - possibly some fresh seafood mixed with some scrumptious fettuccini noodles and white wine sauce, or maybe a dip in the pool with moments full of laughter and memories. Whatever comes your way, I do hope you enjoy.  Until next week, I'll see you on the blog.

"You do not need to know precisely what is happening, or exactly where it is all going. What you need is to recognize the possibilities and challenges offered by the present moment, and to embrace them with courage, faith and hope."
