Investment. The act of buying or paying for something that is seen as having value and will continue to increase in value into the future.

I cannot think of too many investments that are more valuable then ourselves. And whenever I sit down to set goals for the future or plan where I want to place my hard earned money, at the top of my priority list is what I value the most. So where do my investments savings go? Retirement, property and anything else that will provide growth, an even better life and security for my future.

And so while the traditional items of investment were mentioned above, I couldn't help but also include investing in education and one that is often debated, but worth pursuing if you indeed have a vision, patience and persistence - your dream. Perhaps your dream is a new small business, perhaps it is publishing a book or creating a website on your area of expertise or perhaps you wish to open a catering or styling company. Whatever you dream, why not invest in it? After all, if it is what you feel you are destined to do or if you would regret it if you never made the attempt, why not?

So long as you do your research ahead of time, have a little cushion saved up to get you started and are willing to work hard, why not invest in that dream you've had running around in your mind for years? Why not take the risk, make the leap and continue to strive toward what you have dreamed would become your reality? Here is a post from the archives you may enjoy on just this very topic:

This past week and weekend were extraordinarily delightful. With time spent putting the final furnishings in my new flat in Portland (click here to read my first official post detailing the 10 Reasons I Love Portland So Far) and a wonderful week at work, I am counting my blessings most certainly. But I would be lying if I didn't admit that I was exhausted. In this week's final post of the four part simple decor series, I revealed a glimpse into my bedroom, and I can guarantee you, I will be putting to good use this weekend my restful haven.

Also, the many spring showers during April inspired this week's Why Not . . . ? post as I share ideas on how to wear rain boots - so playful, and stylish too.

And as always, there is subtle Francophile undertones running around the blog as Thursday's Style Inspiration is compiled of Parisian spring inspired ensembles as well as a French lifestyle blog you will want to be sure to visit shared in this week's This & That.

I do hope your weekend is a delightful one full of rest if you need it or creative and wonderful activities to excite your soul. As for me, I will be sipping hot tea, reading a few books and indulging in a movie or two. Until next week, I'll see you on the blog.
