implicity, simplicity, simplicity. Above all else, simplicity.

Whenever my life becomes a little too harried, too over-booked or my body cannot seem to catch up, I look to Henry David Thoreau's quote stated above, and then I also remind myself of the even simpler adage - "keep it simple stupid".  Now, I know I'm not stupid and neither are you, but sometimes the obvious way to live life evades us as we try to please everyone else, make each occasion we are involved in absolutely perfect and as a result, we become drained - physically and emotionally.  Call it a sign, call it physiology, whatever you want to call it, now especially during the holidays, we must keep our balance because as much as we want to be superwomen, even she needs her rest.

So be sure to find time to just be by yourself.  Treat yourself to a cup of hot cocoa and pull out your favorite book or a magazine full of dreamy images to get lost in. Perhaps splurge on a pedicure or a massage for yourself, or simply take an hour for an afternoon nap to rejuvenate and refuse to feel guilty for slowing down.

Our state of mind is so very important to maintain. So most importantly, be aware of how you are feeling.  Take note when you feel as though you are not performing up to your full potential and catch your breath.  Those who love you will understand and appreciate your maturity to recognize that sometimes we say yes too often, but that it comes from a place of good intentions.

This holiday season and year round, consciously be aware on a regular basis of your energy tank and seek to keep it stable through a balancing of work, place, rest and exertion.

I will be heading out to select a Christmas tree this weekend, and while it won't be snowing while I tromp around and decide on what would be the best tree for my house, simply having a tree on the top of my car and spending the afternoon decorating it with holiday music dancing around the house will signify the start of the holiday season in my home and heart.

, I hope your holidays so far are going very well, and you are finding many moments to savor. What I've always wanted to do and always try to do is figure out the magic that resides around us and within us during this time of year and carry it on into the other 11 months.  It truly is a state of mind, as I stated last week, which yet again reminds me, we truly are the masters of our own happiness.

In this week's newsletter, a keen and talented stylist for both your wardrobe and home shared a wonderful guest post on 5 Simple Tips for Holiday Entertaining.  Do make sure to check out Tiffani Rogers' guest post and find a bit of inspiration for your next gathering.

The Pre-Fall collections began being revealed this week, and so far Burberry is sitting high atop my favorites list. Classic, feminine and with a neutral color tone - certainly a collection that will be popular with many shoppers I'm sure.

May the weekend be full and lively, or if you see some tranquil time to rejuvenate, may it be quiet and cozy as you rejuvenate for another busy week.  Thank you ever so much for your subscription and until next week, I'll see you on the blog.
