The Simply Luxurious Life newsletter 143

After a week of traveling and waking up each morning having to take a few more moments to comprehend which city/state I was in after having been in four different locales over my spring vacation, I must say I'm happy to be back to my regular routine

However, that is not to say I didn't thoroughly enjoy myself. The one thing my travels always seem to do is to cultivate a greater appreciation for the every day routine I have found to instill productivity, serenity and good health that begins on Monday and runs through Friday. And I think this is a greater lesson to apply to life in general.

While it is important for our stability, peace of mind and well being to have certain routines that remove the thinking (for the most part) so that we can focus on things that need our full attention, it is also a wise idea to include a shake up of that schedule every once in a while in order to broaden our perspective, heighten our appreciation and stimulate our creativity.

To live the same life day in and day out is to waste the gift that life gives us. And it is by stepping out of our comfort zones, stepping into areas that pique our curiosity that helps us to build an even richer and more fulfilling life upon our return.

Here is a post from the archives on just this topic that you might enjoy . . .

In this week's newsletter an update has been made to the weekly Want & Have Outfit post. Rather than just sharing one outfit, I have decided to rename the post in order to share an outfit made of entirely top designer items, as well as a similar post including only frugal finds. Titled Splurge & Save Outfit, with two price points to work with, you will be able to mix and match at your leisure depending up on your style preference and your budget. I do hope you enjoy this improvement to one of the most popular style series on the blog.

Also, I had the most memorable opportunity to see Tom Hanks perform live at New York City's Broadhurst theater last week in Nora Ephron's last play. If you are a fan of the theater or will be traveling to Manhattan this spring, have a look at my review as it is a play not to be missed.

From a decadent chocolate dessert, a fashionable coffee table book to peruse through, a list of ingredients for a quality life as well as decor inspiration and more, this week has been a busy one on the blog. I do hope you enjoy taking your time making your way through April's first newsletter.

I know I don't say it enough, but I want to thank you for your subscription and time in choosing to stop by the blog. I feel fortunate to have readers who are engaged, interested and curious to continue learn and grow as we all create our very best life. Have a wonderful weekend, and  until next week, I'll see you on the blog.

Splurge & Save Outfit:

No. 1

When I began the Want & Have Outfit post last fall, my goal was to share with you ideas that could welcomed and enjoyed in your own wardrobe. What I have discovered as more than 24 outfits were shared, is that while each outfit has been well received, often different price points would be a welcomed option.

So after listening to your comments and emails, the new weekly outfit post has become Splurge & Save. Each week I will share two similar outfits - one styled with top designer wares and the other with frugal finds. And the best part is you can mix and match as your budget and tastes allow and prefer.

I have always found mixing high and low items to be a smart route to choose not only when it comes to my bottom line, but also when creating a look that works well together. For example, costume jewelry is always a good option, and so long as you shoes look fabulous, your entire outfit will be elevated. The key is to purchase items that flatter your figure, skin tone and lifestyle. Happy shopping! I do hope you enjoy this new regular weekly series.
