As the last full week before Santa arrives on our rooftops winds down, I am thankful that this emotional week has come to an end. More than anything such times call for the warmth and support of those you love and time to remind us all what we can be thankful for, what is going well and how we can bring more love, kindness and compassion into the world that often seems a bit out of our control.

The time during the holidays often creates an opportunity for reflection. For some the past year may have been a whirlwind of amazement, dreams coming to fruition and countless blessings, while others may still be in the middle of their journey. Regardless of where this time of year finds you, seek out those who love and understand you, find time to be and do what you love and always remember that you do have tomorrow and most importantly today to be the person you wish to be, create the life you want to create and live in a way that is something to be proud to say you lived.

Life will present challenges, moments that provoke anger and frustration as well as times of sobbing, but look for the lesson, look for the love that is available and wanting to be welcomed into your life. So long as it is authentic, undemanding and true, let it in. And know that it is always a good time to bring more kindness and love into the world. We can never have too much.

This week on the blog I invited a wonderful blogger to share a glimpse at what the holidays are like in Paris. Aisling Grealing of Tresor P arisien graciously captured ways to enjoy the festivities in the City of Light during the month of December as she has the fortunate opportunity to live in Paris. Be sure to have a look at the post.

And of course, the winner of Vahram Muratyan's new deluxe version of Paris Versus New York: A Tally of Two Cities is announced exclusively in this newsletter. Be sure to see who the lucky subscriber is.

Speaking of giveaways. During the second week of January (14th-18th), another luxurious giveaway of a splendid piece of jewelry that I can't wait to share with you as it was just delivered to my house yesterday and will be given away to another lucky winner.

Most importantly, may the holidays and the end of the year find you well, healthy and loved.

And a heads up, next week on the blog, each day will be full of the most popular posts of 2012 based on you the readers' views and comments. While the newsletter will not be delivered on Friday, December 28th as I am taking next week off, do expect to see a new one in your inbox on Friday, January 4th. Until 2013, À bientôt.

Classic, neutral tones will always be in style no matter what the holiday, but often it is fun to wear a festive color. Diane von Furstenberg's cranberry Sabrina wool coat would be a fun addition to be able to wear on special occasions during festival holidays all the while keeping you warm and looking chic at the same time. While red looks fabulous on those who have very warm tones, this particular coat would work on cool tones as well.

The classic pieces such as Eco's pleated sheath dress is a contemporary twist on a traditional wardrobe essential and while the leopard pumps initially appears trendy, I can guarantee they will be in season for many years to come.
