Hi Everyone,
Last winter and spring I was fried. I had given everything I had to write, birth, and launch my second book and I had nothing left to give.
I was sure I had more in me to write and say, I just wasn't feeling it. I was running on empty.
In the absence of motivation and juice, I reached for the one thing that has always given me joy: my camera.
I dusted off my Instagram account,
pushed through my resistance to figure out how the platform works, and started to reconnect with one of my very first (childhood) loves: taking pictures.
I set a simple goal to post one photo a day from my iPhone. It was fun. It was nourishing. Over time, I
discovered a few apps that make it possible to play and deepen my experience even more: change the image size, insert a filter, add a frame. I was hooked.
I never know what each day will bring. It could be the way the afternoon light dances through a window, or the pull of a grove of trees speaking to me in their magic tree
language. It is this silent communion – and often blurry line – between observer and observed that intrigues me, and sometimes takes my breath away.
