Most importantly, Beaches has made a fundamental change in their deposit requirements and the amount now required is $200 per person and not the $200 per reservation. We are working with the powers that be to see if this can be rescinded for our group, but for now, the deposit requirements have increased.  They are still fully refundable through the end of June when the final payment is due.

 

The second bit of news is that the space int he Italian Village is selling out. There are a few of the Tuscan rooms left (middle floor with an ocean view), there is availability of upgraded suites as well including the Piazza (poolfront), Roman Penthouse (higher floor than Tuscan with better ocean view), DaVinci (direct ocean front, mid floor), Siena (direct oceanfront penthouse), and Riviera (direct ocean fron ground floor with a walk out to the beach).  The entry level suits in the Italian Village are all gone and the Tuscans (the most popular one for our group) are dwindling.

 

There is availability in the Caribbean Village as well as in the Salt and Parrot Cay buildings (1 bedroom suites).

 

Now that the holidays are behind us, people are beginning to plan their summer trips and we are seeing it in reduced availability.

 

To give you an idea of the airfares to Turks & Caicos, here are some of the fares available today. When we look at fares, we do not necessarily look for the cheapest--a 12 hour layover is simply not worth it. We look to maximize your time on the island with as few stops as possible with reasonable layovers and reasonable departure times. These are for travel departing on August 13th and return on August 20th.

 

Of course, for other cities, please give me a call and I will keep you posted on our negotiations with Beaches regarding the deposit requirements.

 

You can now go back to freezing! :)  My daughter is actually participating in a Polar Bear Plunge for Special Olympics on Saturday where she takes a swim in the 34.2 degree Chesapeake Bay. Brrr.
