3 bids
Sent Tuesday, March 29, 2011
Hi folks.
This may be a bit of an odd subject for a contractor to
broach, but it is one I struggle with on a daily basis. It
has become the normal procedure to obtain 3 bids for
everything then think things to death. From the point
of view of an honest man on the other side of the fence,
there is very little real logic in doing this. In fact,
it is a down-right misguided effort to keep yourself safe.
what it really does is cause you to compile data,
reference this and cross reference that and get yourself
so wrapped up in procedure that you forget to use your
instincts.
You cannot compare contractors by any other method
other than your gut. only your instincts will tell you
who to trust. then it is always a leap of faith. If your
gut tells you the first guy you call is a good man, start
negotiating price. If you don't get a good feeling, call
another. Simplify the process and every one feels better.
If your contractor is a good man and he feels you trust
him, he will do great things for you and make you happy.
Thanks for tuning in
