The Success Beacon Newsletter

Vol. 1, No. 7

Tuesday, August 24, 2010

Greetings, ,

Welcome to yet another long over due edition of the Success Beacon Newsletter!  Here at Success Manual Central Operations it has been a HOT, HOT, HOT summer and I think - for the first time in my life - I am actually looking forward to the end of the summer season (actually, autumn is my favorite season).

As one season morphs into another, let it remind us that time is a continuum, life is dynamic and that our time during this phase of our eternal life is limited.  Let's get going!

But first, PLEASE be sure to read all the way through - The Success Manual has an important announcement regarding Master Mind Groups and we request the Honor of Your Participation!

Napoleon Hill's "Money-Making Secret"

==================

In our last edition of the Beacon, I asked the question of whether you had deciphered the clues by Napoleon Hill in his timeless classic, Think and Grow Rich, to uncover the "Money-Making Secret" claimed to be mentioned - implicitly, not directly - no fewer than 100 times throughout the book.  I asserted that I had indeed discovered the secret and that I would reveal it at a later date.

Specifically, I stated in our last issue the following:

"As I said, I have read Think and Grow Rich many, many times.  The 'Secret' to which Napoleon Hill refers is NEVER specifically mentioned ANYWHERE in the book.  My question to you is this:

"DO YOU KNOW THE "MONEY-MAKING" SECRET?"

In response to that article, I received some interesting feedback and, as a result, re-examined my conclusion as to what I believe is the Secret.  My continued investigation only further supported my initial conclusion.

What is this "Money-Making Secret?"  (Actually, it is more than just a "Money-Making Secret" - it is, I believe, a "Life Success Secret.")  To find out, read my article "Success Key: 'State of Mind' - The Most Powerful Success Strategy" at http://bit.ly/ch7Qsq

Raymond Holliwell's "Working with the Law"

==================

One of the greatest Success Manuals, in my opinion, is Working with the Law by Raymond Holliwell.  My tattered and torn edition is so full of notes and markings, parts of it are almost incomprehensible (not to mention several years ago, my one year old son decided to throw it in a toilet - YES, the water was clean!).

A few days ago, I picked it up, like so many of my personal books, and simply flipped open to a page to begin reading.  I have often found that when challenged with a certain difficulty, the best way, in addition to prayer, is to simply grab the book that you feel most attracted to and just open it to any page and start reading.  That was the case here.

I opened to the middle of the chapter entitled "Law of Compensation" and this is what I read:

"The key to successful living is the right adjustment of your thoughts.  If your thoughts are constructive and proper, you cannot remain imprisoned.  If you are dissatisfied and unhappy, you will be inspired for something better.

"If you want prosperity and success but do not strive to change in any way, how can you expect things to be any different?  A drunkard never becomes reformed until he decides to stop drinking.  If some habit possesses or obsesses you, you are not the master of your life until you decide to change the habit.  If you have been brought into the world amidst lack and limitation, you can never get above it until you change your ideas about it.  There are many, many people who live and die and never know anything different from what has been handed down to them.  Once you have changed your vision, you will change your conditions.  Only when we cease to recognize a condition do we cease to attract it.  The only way we can cease to recognize things is to change our minds about them.

How POWERFUL is that passage!  I read it over and over several times, for it was exactly what I needed to hear - especially the final three sentences (the italics are mine in the above passage).

I have a recommendation for you, .  Read the above passage twice a day, every day, for a full thirty (30) days.  And, don't just read it - really meditate upon what Holliwell is conveying in his words.  After thirty days, send me an email (just reply to this one or go to our web site at www.successmanual.com) and let me know if this exercise has made ANY impact in your life.  I don't gamble, but if I did, I would bet that you will experience positive results.

Can such a simple exercise create real change in your life, ?  I think so.  So, let's give it a try - you have absolutely nothing to lose!

POLL: The Number One Cause of Unhappiness: "Negative and/or Distorted Thinking"

==================

A poll was conducted last week by someone in my network on the social media site LinkedIn and it was comprised of only one question:  "Which one of the following most reduces your ability to be happy?"  The question was not open-ended and required a selection from one of five possible responses:

  1. Problem People in My Life
  2. My Health
  3. Negative and/or Distorted Thinking
  4. Not Enough Money
  5. Other

The number one response: "Negative and/or Distorted Thinking."  In fact, nearly HALF of all respondents chose "Negative and/or Distorted Thinking" as the greatest cause of their unhappiness.

And who said it was all about money?

Granted, the poll is by no means scientific, and while I am personally not big on "validation," I would say that we may be onto something here! :-D

"The Master Mind"

 ==================

Much has been said and written about the amazing power of the Master Mind.  Exactly what is a Master Mind?

According to Napoleon Hill, a Master Mind is defined as follows: "Coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose."

W. Clement Stone, who worked closely with Hill for a period of ten years, stated the following about the Master Mind principle:

"During our ten-year association, I learned the missing number to my combination for worldwide achievement - the Master Mind Principle, two or more persons working together in complete harmony toward a mutual goal or goals . . . Napoleon Hill's philosophy teaches you what you were never taught, specifically, how to recognize, relate, assimilate, and apply principles whereby you can achieve any goal whatsoever that doesn't violate Universal Law - the Law of God and rights of your fellow man."

Okay, why all of this on "Master Minds?"

Because one of our readers has planted the seed in The Success Manual garden of establishing Maser Mind Group(s) among other devotees of the site, the Beacon or anyone else who may have an interest.

Interested, ?

This promises to be a phenomenal Opportunity - DON'T PASS THIS UP!

"More on "The Master Mind"

 ==================

Speaking of which, I thought I would add a few choice quotes by Theron Q. Dumont (William Walker Atkinson) from his book, "The Master Mind."  Enjoy!

"It is an established principle of psychology that the mental picture of the object or subject of a feeling, emotion, or desire, when held before the mind, tends to add force, power, and vitality to the emotional state representing it.  And the stronger, deeper, clearer, and more frequently repeated such a mental picture is, the stronger, deeper, and more does the emotional mental state associated with it tend to become.  Feelings, emotions, and desires are fed by ideas - and the strongest kind of ideas are those taking form in clear mental pictures of the imagination or memory."

"Before the Imagination can build, construct, and create, it must be supplied with the proper materials.  The materials with which the Imagination works is to be had only in the subconscious storehouse of Memory.  Therefore, the Memory must be supplied with a stock of information concerning the particular subject or object which the Imagination is to develop by means of its creative power.  And the impressions stored away in this manner should be clear, distinct, and strong."

"The ordinary mind is like a dumb, driven animal, while the Master Mind is like the strong-willed, intelligent, masterful Man."
