Manager Musings
Saying goodbye is never easy. Whether it is to a friend, a loved one or a furry friend goodbyes are always hard. Which is why it is so hard for me to say goodbye to all the amazing clients and pets and colleagues that I have had the privilege of working with for the past four years. But, sadly, all good things must come to an end and it is time for me to move on. But don't worry - you're not completely free from me! I will continue to manage our hospital website, our Facebook & Twitter pages and the monthly mailings and you might just see me around from time to time as I will be popping in on a regular basis to make sure everything is going smoothly! I have enjoyed every moment of my time at SVH and all the wonderful friendships I have made along the way. Thank you to all my two- and four-legged friends -- it has been a pleasure to have met you all.
On a happier note, an old face will be making a new appearance at our hospital in the form of a new Practice Manager. Becky Milton first began her employment with SVH many years ago as a veterinary assistant and she is now back to take over from me. Becky brings with her many years of in-clinic experience and I know that you're gonna love her!
Again, thank you to everyone for everything - I will always cherish my time as a member of the SVH Family.

OCTOBER IS FUNDRAISE FOR FARLEY
Every year our hospital participates in the Farley Foundation "October is Farley Month" campaign and this year will be no exception. In addition to selling the now-famous Paw Prints, this year we will also be selling nifty non-disposable grocery bags that are perfect for picking up some pet food and treats for your precious pup or kitty. All funds raised will go directly to the Farley Foundation which assists seniors and disabled persons on limited incomes with the
necessary treatment of their pets. In 2007, the Foundation expanded its
criteria to assist the pets of women at risk of abuse (and their
children) who are participating in OVMA's SafePet Program. The Farley Foundation honors the human-animal bond and seeks to help those who most benefit from pet ownership.
TO ALL OUR GROOMING CLIENTS
Please be advised that our groomer, Sherry Klein, will be on medical leave from January 10, 2011 until March 5, 2011.
Please be sure to schedule your pet's grooming appointments accordingly!

Otitis Externa aka. Those PeskyEar Infections
| |

It's the largest organ in your pet's body and it's also the most crucial. It is an important immune defense system and works to keep foreign substances such as pollutants and bacteria out of your pet's internal system. It helps regulate temperature, guards against dehydration and helps eliminate toxins that might otherwise cause harm. We're talking, of course, about your pet's skin.
