Is Strength Training Dead?
 
 
Hello,
 
"Strength programs are dead, sport specific is all that kids need."  I had a local strength coach insist during a recent discussion.
 
He argued that baseball players should only play baseball and exercise only baseball specific movements.
 
Needless to say, I took some issue with this.
 
But doesn't his statement represent a lot of what we see in the industry lately? 
 
People are lining out the door for places that will teach sports mechanics (which is a good thing) but then they don't see a need to workout as well.
